I just can't take it anymore!!!!

I don't know how everyone does it. I am so full of anticipation for our first family vacation, I'm ready to hurl. I'm addicted to these boards and creating my schedule/budget and I feel like that robot on Short Circuit, "need more input"! I wish I was going today, I can't stand waiting.

I can't stop shopping for the trip either. I pre-ordered the updated Unofficial Guide, but have to wait til 8/24 so I bought Passporter's WDW on Friday. Made the final payment for the trip on Friday too, so the only thing keeping us away is a hurricane (please no! ).

I've been to the Disney Store twice last week, got Disney dollars and gift cards on each trip and even bought 2 bags (like the ones you buy to put groceries in, instead of the paper/plastic) that are Mickey Halloween themed. I'm using them for MNSSHP as our trick or treat bags, only $2.50. I even bought a bunch of Disney birthday gifts for dd at disney's online store the week before last, to take to the "World". I'm making my trip to the dollar store today for ponchos, etc. We're not leaving for 2 months! I'll be broke before we even get there.

Good thing I wear a wig, 'cause I'd be pulling my hair out.

I can't stop talking about it... I can't stop thinking about it... I can't stop reading about it... I can't take it anymore!

I am with you. Our budget is seriously limited for Disney "stuff" so I am fighting the urge DAILY to do to the Disney store and load up on anything and everything that's on sale! LOL Its hard to resist it all!

The DIS boards are a blessing but ADDICTING!

I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions on how to keep you from exploding from excitement... if you come up with one be sure to share it! I am finally starting to get excited! YAY!

I think most of us are in the same boat.
Why not try making some of the WDW recipes from the various restaurants & have different themed Disney nights at your house.
For instance you could have a Little Mermaid night, make a seafood dinner w/ WDW recipes, and then sit down w/ the family to watch the movie.
Also you can get some Disney music CD's & play them while out driving or even while cleaning the house.

I am the same way about our DCL cruise, which is now 75 days away - I have been planning this trip for 2 years!!!

I saved some projects for the last few weeks to keep myself busy, making t-shirts for my family, door signs, etc. I am hoping that will help!

I guess I should have posted some recipe websites.

These are a couple that I have used.

We live in FL, about an hour's drive from Orlando, and have never been to WDW.

DH and I just bought annual passes last week... we'd been saving up for a weekend trip for our 10th anniversary this month, plus this month is my bday, his bday, one son's bday, and my daughter's just passed in July. So we were trying to decide where we wanted to go, and really what came up is more than anything we wanted to go to Disney... even if it meant ditching what would have been our 10 yr belated honeymoon to be with the kids. And after pricing figured the annual passes were a better investment as we can go 3 or 4 times a month for most of the year just for a day trip.

We homeschool and I'm self employed/work at home, and my husband has been at his job so long he gets like 6 weeks of paid vacation through the year, so it's easy to just shift our schedule and take a day trip in the middle of the week-- heck I can probably get the kids to do their work in the car during the ride if it means a day at Disney.

I think it hit me today because I can't stop thinking about it, I am so excited.

We told my teen because she's in college and I wanted to make sure she wanted that as her gift and that she'd be able to take time enough to go with us (she was all for it!). But we haven't even told our 2 youngest yet, ages 8 and 10... they are ALWAYS asking us if we can go to Disneyworld someday, whenever they see a Disney movie, or commercial, or billboard. And we always tell them... we'll see, not sure, hopefully. I think they think it's not going to happen.

So we're going to tell them Sunday before we leave for our first visit, going for 3 days... and I cannot wait to see their faces!!! I think their heads are going to pop off and fly around the room!

But we can't even really TALK about it because we don't want to blow the surprise... plus I'm afraid if they know before Sunday sleepless nights will just wreak havoc on the trip.

But hubby is gone all day working and I am about to burst. I'm sitting here trying to work-- NOT EASY!!!

Oh, Sunday, please come soon come soon come sooooooooon!!!!!!!

I am laughing so hard as I read this thread! because I have "been there, done that"....and when I go again to WDW in 2011, I will "be there, doing that" again.

It's Disney! You have every right to get excited!!!!!! Don't contain it!!

You know, just when you think you are obsessive compulsive about your WDW vacation, you can come here and find others who understand!

I have a Disney box that we put trip stuff into whenever we come back, then I add stuff all year long. I either tinker with the box or think about tinkering with the box at least once a day. Sunscreen: Check! Panchos: Check! and so on. In fact, on my to do list today is pack our toiletry bag. And we're still a month away!

In our house, once I get those ME tags and the big blue envelope, the gloves come off! But, oh, it's so much harder this year because DS still thinks we aren't going! ARGH! I may explode and blow the whole surprise!

We are 91 days out (YAY ADRs TOMORROW) and its been all I can think about lately. I have actually decided that I've become too addicted and had to make myself get involved in other things (like the units welcome home group thingy). I have my alarm set for 4am tomorrow so I can get up and do our ADRs early. I have wanted to do some shopping and have held off. I have almost all of our window decorations (the last of them arrive in the mail soon) packed up already...Now that is crazy.

I think the anticipation is ALMOST better than the actual vacation. Whenever I am having a bad moment, or even if I am just stuck in traffic, I go to my Disney place in my head and do a little mental planning. It has saved me many times from snapping at someone, so how can that be bad?

Send a message via AIM to cogero
we were just there in April and we are approaching our 90 day mark so I am running around like a chicken without a head this week trying to get things done.

I am getting ready to start my shipping to Disney box too.

actually brought a tear to my eye, i can relate so well to it!!

I checked a planning book out of the library today that I'm not sure is even going to be that great, but it's DISNEY (2007 to boot!). Not enough that I've read the Unofficial Guide cover to cover and been there once a year for the past 5....there's always something more to learn!!!!

Oh, man. This is bad.

I don't like unfinished trip reports. If I wanted to read an unfinished trip report I'd read my own.

If I lived an hour away from Disney World, I'd go everyday! On my way home from work, on the way home from church, EVERYDAY!!!!

OP: I know exactly what you are feeling and believe it doesn't get any better, whether it's your 1st trip or your 15th. Believe me, I know!!!
