AKL/V - stuff to check out for non-guests?

Hi, all. My family will be taking a shuttle to visit AKL/V the night we arrive in the World so we can pick some stuff up at the Johari Treasures mini mart in Kadani Village. Also, I really wanted to take a look at the property - it sounds gorgeous! (I might also be able to convince my family to make an ADR at Boma, but it's a long shot.) I was wondering, though - is there anything in particular we should/can do/see as non-guest visitors, while we're there? Thanks very much - I look forward to any feedback you might have!

Not sure when you are going, but most of Aug - Dec. is free dining, which makes ADR;s at Boma's a little hard to get. I would recommend you book your ressie in advance using Disney's website, so that you aren't disappointed when you get there. You can walk from Jambo to Kidani, to take a look around. Enjoy your time at AKL!

Yes, it'll definitely be fun to explore the gorgeous common areas! We may end up just doing a snack at Victoria Falls Lounge (it'll just be my husband and me, and we are both light eaters) for dinner, followed by something at POP (our own hotel) later, if we're still hungry.

We just got back from a stay at Kidani Village (loved it!).

Just so you know..the gift shop there is extremely small with limited merchandise. The only item unique to that particular shop is a t-shirt with "Kidani Village 2009 Opening" printed on it. Everything else there you can find in the Jambo House gift shop.

*Btw, we really enjoyed our dinner at Sanaa. I highly recommend it. Great food! The "Naan bread" was fantastic.

Go out to the pool.
Walk past the huge Tiki Bar, then turn left (where the hidden Jacuzzi's are) -at the end of this walkway is the best lookout, for certain animals, on the property. I once saw a huge amount of giraffe's there.

When you enter the resort-you will see the enormous glass window wall-go out there for an amazing view of the animals
