Loved Prime Time

Took my parents (both 60), bro 28, DH (we're both 32) and DD 19 mos. to
50s Prime Time Cafe at the Studios and loved it!

Took my parents there because I know the dining rooms were right out of their homes and grandparents homes growing up. They loved the ambiance. My parents also loved interacting and playing around with the "bossy mom-like" waitress. She did a great job, however, she never recognized our anniversary and we were both wearing buttons. I never mentioned it because my daughter was fussy from getting a cold and cutting teeth so I paid more attention to keeping her happy and occupied.

We all had delicious malts or shakes...perfect for a hot day! Bro and dad had the meatloaf and loved it. Mom had the fish sandwich, which I think she orders at every place that offers it, and loved it. Hubby had the stacker sandwich which was humungous. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich which was nothing special. I would order something else next time. DD is under 2 and I forgot to ask if I could just order her a cup of soup or single serving of Mac, so I ordered her the kids meal with soup and mac and cheese. She ate the soup and we took the Mac and cheese home for dinner since we were leaving right after lunch. She never brought her the ice cream dessert I ordered with it and my mom paid so I never looked at the receipt to see if she charged us for the whole thing.

The best part was that they got us in early. Original ADR was for 12:05 and we walked up at 11:30 and I told her my daughter was fussy due to cutting teeth and having a cold and she looked at her screen and said if I could get everyone in there right now, she could seat us. Amazing! DD would not have made it another 1/2 hr.

All in all, a great time, great place to relax and cool off, and I would recommend it!

I love, love, love that place. The first time, it was so crowded I had to sit at the bar for lunch. I had a hot dog and fries; and they were the crinkle cut kind I had as a kid; and the hot dog had the grill marks on it; just like going to a lunch counter at Woolworth's. I almost cried.

I took my mother one year and she too loved it. I ordered the fried chicken and she ordered the meatloaf and we split each in half, so we got to enjoy both. She thought it was hysterical when someone was looking through a viewmaster - she asked what it was, I rolled my eyes in horror, and said gosh mom, it's the dessert menu.

I was also chastised one year for putting my elbows on the table and asking for a second glass of wine.....

I've only eaten there once, but we loved it. We got "clean plate" buttons for cleaning our plates.

The only bad thing was our server, Uncle Skip, had just returned from vacation and he kind of acted like he wished he was still on vacation. He didn't interact with his tables all that much, not like some of the other servers were doing, so that was a bit disappointing.

But I would eat there again definitely. It's a fun restaurant!

Totally agree! In the hustle and bustle of Disney, sometimes you just need "Pot Roast" and glorious pot roast it is! Fried chicken's not bad either! I always say I'll try soemthing new like meatloaf, but in the end I end up with Pot Roast!
