Advice, tips, please.
We have booked a visit to Disney from Nov 29-Dec 6th (off-season!
). We...okay I, was thinking that my husband is off work for Thanksgiving from Nov. 25 through the 27th (his company gives him this time off with pay) and our 5yo is out of school at that time (like every other child, duh), so why not go ahead and go down to Florida. I do not want to go to Disney at this time, too expensive and crowded, but DH has piles of hotel points, so we have booked the 25th until the 29th offsite. Wednesday will be a travel day and we would eat at HRC (our teen son loves HRC, he is coming too) and we plan on spending Friday and Saturday at SeaWorld, maybe do the Dinner with Shamu one of the nights.I know Thanksgiving is a SUPER busy time for Disney...is SeaWorld as heavily packed? We do not ride the thrill rides but we do enjoy the shows. Also, is there a good place to eat Thanksgiving dinner at DTD or at one of the resorts? When we do tour Disney the following week, this is our schedule: S/Nov 29-(DHS) early lunch at 50's PT (never been) and dinner at Chef Mickeys (never been) M/Nov 30-(Epcot) lunch at Coral Reef (one of our teen's faves) and dinner at Norway (one of our daughter's faves) T/Dec 1st-(MK) CRT lunch (everyone's fave) and dinner at 1900PF (never been) W/Dec 2-(AK) Safari BF (Never been) and dinner at O'Hana (never been H/Dec 3-(MK) Crystal Palace for lunch (everyone's fave) and LTT for dinner (my fave, even with no characters now) F/Dec 4-(Epcot) Romantic dinner at Mexico while our teen son keeps lil sis busy and they eat at America (he is a bacon cheeseburger fanatic) and dinner in Italy/Tutto Italia (never been) A/Dec 5th-(MK) lunch at the Plaza (never been) and dinner at WCC(DH's fave) S/Dec 6th-Supercali BF and hit the road to return home. Now I know we have not been able to make ADR yet, but we usually eat at off times and have been pretty lucky about getting places. We did think of Fulton's for TG, we have never ate there, but it is really expensive and has really mixed reviews. Seems like one either hates or loves Fulton's...I would love to try a signature restaurant...but for Thanksgiving?? Advice on SeaWorld and a place to get a good TG dinner would be appreciated...or any helpful tips, we have never been in the area during TG weekend. Thanks so very much for taking time to read this and offer advice.

I may have put this in the wrong area, I thought I was in strategies and tips, not family. If so, please move it, thank you and sorry!

You may want to rethink your MK on Sat, the 5th. That is the presumed day for taping of the Christmas Parade and it will be packed!

Just to put my 2 cents and hoepfully a little comfort here.
I LOVE to go to Disney the week after Thanksgiving! and have done it MANY times. I usually left the Firday after Thanksgiving or sometimes THanksgiving night after dinner. Even over the rest of the holiday weekend I never found the parks too crowded. In fact I enjoyed being there that Fri, Sat & Sun as the parks were still on holiday hours and opened later and I got to see all the night parades and such. The weather was usually nice - sometimes it was hot and other times I needed a sweatshirt in the evening. The parks are decorated for the holidays and everything that goeds with it. The last time I went this time for year was in 2002 and the parks were fine - no big crowds and didn't have a probelm with ADRS. I'm not sure how the extended free dining will affect this - but I've gone Labor Day week last year and again this year and except for not being able to get an O'hana reservation, I've had no problems with my ADRS - even the ones I changed weeks after the 90 day mark. I then got married, had a son and these past 2 years we've gone Labor day week as it's a better time for my husband's business. THOUGH I am already thinking and planning to go the week after Thanksgiving next year - before my son starts Kindergardten and we may be more dictated by his school schedule. I love that time of year at Disney - you have all the holiday feel without the big holiday crowds. Have a great time |
