Talking A few Las Vegas pics to share...

I figured I would take a few minutes and share a few pictures... I am sitting at McCarron Airport in Vegas waiting for my flight to leave... I have about 5 more hours before I ma in the air, so I am messing around on my laptop... None of these photos have been adjusted yet, so they are not the best, but still, maybe worth seeing... I am still working on night pictures, and most of these were handheld... The only time I used a tripod was for the Bellagio Water show...

The Famous Sign

The View from my room.... 21st floor! At the Luxor...

Some slot machines...

The hippie bus at Fremont Street...

The Fremont Street Experience... First time really using my 35mm 1.8....

The Sirens of TI show at Treasure Island... Cool show!

The statue outside the Luxor...

The outside o the NYNY...

From inside of M&M World... I thought it would look cool... The people were looking at me funny when I took it

A few from the Bellagio Water show last night...

A shot of the Paris and PH at night....

I have a few more up on my Flickr if you are interested... They are under Travel/Las Vegas/August 2009.... I am going to try to load some of the raw files in CS# and tweak a bit, but figured I would load a few that I had while I am sitting here... Let me know what you think... I am still learning my camera... Thanks

Very nice shots. I haven't been to Vegas yet, but some friends and family have and they keep trying to get me to go. Might have to try it!
The Bellagio is really stunning.

P.S. I liked the M&M shot!

Great shots. I love the overhead lights shots in DT Vegas.

Question: The pirate ship at Treasure Island. What flash did you use for that shot. It seems you got really good range, if that was from your camera, or did it have a spot on it?

The slot machines and M&M World are both good shots as well.

Great shots of my home town!! My dad built every major hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Makes me homesick to see them.

I live here (all my life) and am the only one who doesn't have pics of Vegas to post. Never seen the Fremont Experience in person, sad but true!

You did a really great job. Love the New York New York pic especially. I'm surprised you weren't tackled by security taking a picture of a slot machine... That sign says home to me. A couple weeks ago someone tagged it and I couldn't believe how offended I got. Anyhoo, fab pics, can't wait to see more.

edited to add: Just had a look at some of your EXIF. You have some seriously steady hands! Were you shooting in Aperture Priority?

Thanks! I shot most of the pics in Program mode... I went to Shutter Priority when I shot the Bellagio water show as I shot some in 5 second shutter speed, but 90% were hand held... I don't know how I got all the pics I did at night shooting hand held, but somehow I did... When possible, I used a fence or something to lean on... I had a tripod with me, just too lazy to get it out...

I used a SB-600 mounted on top... That was the only way I was going to shoot that far away with any luck...

That is awesome... The casinos are absolutely amazing and that would have been awesome to be part of the build...

I remember cruising Fremont Street in my 68 Firebird when we could still drive downtown. Those are great memories!

Very nice. Las Vegas is one of my favorite place to shoot some pics. Lots of color, lots of lights and no shortage of things to do.

Here is a few from my Aunt's house... She lives about an hour outside of Vegas... She has the most amazing sunsets and scenery around her house...

Standing on the driveway looking out front of her house...

A few sunset shots from the backyard...
