CRT OOP or 2TS for our family?

I've read so many times that you should pay OOP for CRT. However when looking at the TS choices that we've made for our short August trip, I don't see that it is a savings.

My family (DH, DD8, DD5 and me) and our ADRs:

Day 1: T-Rex dinner (OOP)
Day 2: CRT breakfast and Plaza dinner
Day 3: Kona Cafe for dinner

It seems to me that our choices of TS are rather inexpensive. IF we were to add another TS, then it would be something like Ohana's for breakfast. Hubby doesn't usually order steak (I do) and we don't usually order appetizers or extra desserts if they don't come with the meal.

Am I missing something that would make it better to pay OOP for CRT?

For the ADRs you listed, I would use the 2TS at CRT, 1TS at Kona and pay for Plaza OOP. Plaza is so inexpensive I think out of everything you have listed, it is the least "worthy" of a TS credit.

If you add in Ohana, it is hard to say. It's a little bit of work, but try going to the All Ears site and checking menu prices, crunching some numbers to see if it is more worth it to use 1TS each for Plaza, Ohana breakfast and Kona, or omit Plaza and Ohana from that and using 2TS at CRT breakfast and 1TS at Kona. Test it out and see what happens. That is what I would do.

Thanks, I've been crunching the numbers. Although, it is more difficult to do since DH won't even look at the menus before we go and he is so unpredictable with his meal choices. I think that you are right about the Plaza, and even if we do add Ohana, it looks as though, in our case at least, paying OOP for CRT doesn't make sense.

We used credits for CRT and felt after that I should have paid OOP. But we were there for 10 nights so we had so many credits all over the place that we just used them.

And, just a quick note on TREX. We ate there on our trip....I hope you made your reservation through their site...it was super crowded. With our reservation we walked right in and there were about 50 people on line. Also, the portions are HUGE. My DH and I could have split our entree easily....and we can eat...trust me!

We are paying OOP for CRT because we are using our 2TS for Hoop de doo. CRT breakfast is about $35 pp and Hoop de doo is about $50pp. I think it all depends on where you are planning on eating.
