Carolyn Allen's

DF will be renting a suit/tux from there when we get married.

Do you just literally walk in a few days prior to the day, and you will get measured up, and then come in the day before the wedding to collect your suit?

Or do you need to contact them before with your sizes?

Thanks in advance

Rachel

You don't have to walk in - Carolyn Allen comes to your hotel room. However, as you guessed, you need to send them measurements in advance so they can approximate the sizes. Then, at the fitting, they can change the pants and sleeve lengths or figure out which sizes need exchanging.

The only trick is if your fitting is over a weekend and the suit you pick is not a style they keep lots of sizes of at their shop. During the week they can get new pieces sent from their out-of-state warehouse, but over the weekend, it's closed.

Anyway, the guys can get measured by a seamstress or go to a local tuxedo shop to have measurements taken, and then you just phone/email CA the numbers a few weeks or months beforehand.

Thank you, you are very helpful.

So say if DF was to go into or get Carolyn Allen's to come to us on a Monday, there would be no problem getting a suit for the Friday?

We go to Disney next month and can't decide if to pop into Carolyn Allen's while we are there or if it is just a waste of time. After all, he could get measured up and be a different size next year?

Yeah, you probably want to wait until closer to the wedding to get him measured (not that I am implying anything! )

CA can bring the tux out Monday for a fitting, alter it/order new pieces that week, and then leave the tux for you at Bell Services on Thursday night or deliver it Friday morning for the wedding.
