Where are the people???

We are at CBR from Dec 12 thru 18th. I've been enjoying all the gorgeous photos posted by many different people taken at various times of the year, but it just occurred to me. Where are the people??? Everyone can't be taking photos at the crack of dawn while everyone is sleeping. I'm seeing empty pools, empty beaches, and empty chairs. We stayed at All Star Sports in March the week before Easter. It was crowded chaos and we loved it. I take my 9 year old grandson and no other children, so he found lots of friends to swim with. I'm suddenly concerned we are staying at the wrong place. I also am a bit concerned that the Carribean theme doesn't lend itself to the traditional Christmas decor and we may be disappointed. HELP!!!!

Some folks do get up early to take resort pics. I was up at 5:30 am at AKL and at Poly just to take photos so I could get some good shots without people in them.

CBR should be fine for Xmas - there are some really cute decorations there for Xmas, and the other resorts are decorated as well.

Have a fun trip!

Well, December is a less crowded time of year than April. But, I wouldn't worry too much about people, I am sure that you will find people around. Now, the Moderates are more spread out and I believe less chaotic than the Values. I have stayed at a booked solid Moderate and never felt (other than the food court) that it was super packed. You might be a value type of person if you like the chaos...

You are probably right about CBR maybe not having that "Christmas" feel...if that is a biggie for you, I would probably switch resorts. But, I also think that not every resort can have the Christmas feel. I remember one year going to Pop Century in Dec. and worrying about this as well. But I actually liked it in Dec. and felt that even though it didn't SCREAM Christmas, it tried. We stayed in the 50's building and I remember hearing Eartha Kitt singing Santa Baby and the Beach Boys also had a couple Christmas songs. It was fun.

We are planning on a value this year and booked ASMovies, but I am reconsidering and thinking about ASSports, how did you like it? Were the beds comfy, and what about bus service?

December is less crowded than other times of year, but it is not dead. The crowds are more average to moderate.December has increasingly become more popular during the years.I remember back in 2000 , having the MK dead most of the day.Fast forward to 2007, and it was significantly busier.

Due to CBR's layout you are never going to feel crowded, even when it is booked solid. That's one of the many things we love about it. Very tropical and relaxing. So if you are looking for the noise and chaos of a value, you may be disappointed. But I don't believe you are ever going to find the pool or food court empty either! We were there in January when the temps ranged from 50-80 and there were always people in the pool, but at the same time it was never overly crowded and it was easy to keep an eye on our children at all times.

If you decide to stick with CBR, I'm sure you and your DGS will love lots of things about it. The new pools are amazing, the food court is fast and good, the bus service is excellent, the rooms are nice sized and clean, and the CM's are super friendly. CBR is our family favorite!

Have a great trip no matter where you end up!

Smile

We stayed at CBR during Christmas week. They closed the parks at 6:00 on Christmas Eve, but there was plenty to do at the resort. In the area by the main pool there was a gentleman doing an ice carving of a sleigh and eight reindeer. (He had to work fast in 75 degree weather) There was a live reindeer for the kids to pet, and the Jolly Old Man himself was there to greet the kids, along with a number of Disney characters.

You will love it.

Thumbs up

We were at CBR a few years back and kids do stay there. My kids had no problem getting a gang together at the main pool.

There is no wrong resort at Disney.
Yule love it.

Well, CBR is very spread out, so you rarely ever run into a crowd there (unless it's at the main pool or food court). And that's one of the main reasons we like it so much! It has a quiet and relaxed feel, as do the other moderates. I'm sure you'll see plenty of crowds in the parks, so don't worry about not seeing enough of those-- even though you are going at a time with low to moderate crowd levels, you'll still see plenty of people. Have a great trip!

I purposely try not to get people in my resort pictures.
