Room Requests at AKL Away From Public Viewing Areas?
We are going to AKL for the first time on Aug 29 and staying for 7 nights. We want a lower room for the savanna view around the 2nd floor or so.
Should we request something away from public viewing areas? We have a 3 year old and a 3 month old and don't want loud guests keeping them up or waking them up looking at animals. Does this make sense for those that have been there before? We generally have stayed at the AllStars and have found rooms by the pools and on the front of those to be much louder than others. Is this true of AKL with the public areas? Any other suggestions are welcomed! TIA!

I would just request a quiet area. The public viewing areas are off the lobby so there should not be people in the halls walking to these areas.

Thanks! We haven't been there and I didn't know what I should request. So now I will make sure to request a quiet area on the 2nd floor.

Having stayed there twice, might I suggest a 3rd floor room? The lobby is actually on the 3rd floor and it is easier with kids not to have to take an elevator or stairs to your room every time you return to the resort from the parks. Also, the 3rd floor offers some of the best views. We checked out the animal viewing from just about all resort floors on our first trip and we found out that the 3rd and 4th floors are excellent. Higher floors seem too far away from the animals and the 2nd floor, while closer to the ground, does not give you as good of an overview of the sprawling savannahs. Also, if you request Zebra trail you will be on the same side of the lodge as the restaurants and pool area. It can be quite a hike from the other side of the lodge depending on where your room is located. Have a great trip!
