Do they sell Disney dollars at the resorts?

One of our relatives gave us money for our son for our disney trip - they would have gotten Disney dollars but there is not a disney store nearby and we do not have time to order them by mail before our trip and they dont sell them online. We are staying at the Pop Century. We want to get him Disney dollars with the money so it is his special money - do they sell them at the resort? If not, where can we get them? THANKS!

That's so funny. My family and I are staying at the Pop Century in three weeks, and I gave my 5 yr old nephew a $50 Disney Gift Card, which is good at all the parks and resorts. They don't do paper Disney Dollars any more I believe, just gift cards. If it worries you that much and you can't get to a Disney Store, then get a Visa gift card or something like that. Visa is accepted all across the parks as well.

You can get Disney Dollars at any Disney Store...I know you said there is not one near you though...if you google Disney Dollars, you can order them online, not sure if you will get them in time before your trip...

Your other choice would be a gift card...only thing with a gift card though is when you get down to the end bit of it...say the card is for $50....your child spends $45...his next stop he spends $6.50...in order for complete sale with the gift card, you have to pay the CASH PART FIRST which would be the $1.50, then the remaining balance of $5 with the card last...if you were to try to swipe the card FIRST, it will decline it, because the full balance of $6.50 is not left on card...therefore you have to keep up with how much you spend and what your balance is...and yes most receipts from a purchase using a gift card will show your balance...

Lucky tho I am we have one disney store left here in La, not too far from me, so I think I will be a day shopping trip away, in order to purchase some disney dollars...we are going in April of 2010,taking 2 grandsons...I will give Disney Dollars in their Halloween Card, Stocking, they each have a birthday before we go and for Valentines Day...we arrive on Easter Sunday, I am bringing Easter Card with Disney Dollars to sneak in the room and put on their pillow from the Easter Bunny!!
