A Photographers View of Napa Rose in California

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you the experience that is Napa Rose...
These are Chefs Tables seats 4 and 5. I can answer what a lot of them are but they just kept running out food as fast as I could shoot. Everything shot with 50mm 1.8 on a D300..a little over-saturated but I like the extra color.

Single greatest dining event in my entire life.

Fruits, not on the menu, this was special request to a diner.

Truffled Mac n Cheese....best mac n cheese ever..and I'm from the deep south so that saying a lot.

Hand Crafted Papperadelle Pasta with Sauteed Golden Chantrelle Mushrooms, Pheasant Confit and Basil Pesto.....this was sinful..should be illegal

Hand Harvested Scallops with a Sauce of Lemon, Lobster and Tahitian Vanilla.
I have harvested scallops myself off the Gulf Coast of Fl. and it was no where near as good.

Some kind of Salmon.... I will continue in my next post.

Continued from above...

Not sure what this is. Looks like art but it all did.

Portobello Mushroom Ravioli, Sauteed in truffle sage brown butter, American Procciutto and Parmigiano-Reggiano. I wanted this sooo bad. My stomach veto'd the idea.

Osso Bucco with a Ragu of Portobello Mushrooms, Applewood bacon and Green Garlic Sauce. A fellow diner next to us let me try this...AMAZING..

Grilled Petir Filet of Angus Beef w/crisp Yukon gold potato gnocchi grilled onions, green beans and Merlot Jus. My DW had this and it was heavenly as well....anybody noticing a theme here??

Walnut Crusted Rack of Colorado Mountain Lamb with Boneless Braised Lamb shank, and Sonoma Mushrooms. This was my main course and it crushed every other Lamb dish I have ever eaten.

My Favorite Shot...Summer Garden Tomato Salad. This is my new desktop.

I will post desserts later on tonight.

Desserts...sweet heaven is the best description I can give.

Don't remember the name of this one but it was as refreshing as a jump in the pool after yardwork.

Creme Brulee Tart. Umm WOW!! This was perfection on a plate.

It was our 10yr anniversary hence the fancy piping.

Here is the dessert chef creating magic.

Sorry to say no more dessert pics, the staging area for the desserts was to far away.

Hope everyone enjoys them.

So, were you at a special chefs table and a special menu for this or was this on the menu?

There are 8 seats (2 sets of 4) that are at a bar facing the kitchen. You have to reserve them up front.

All the food I had was on the menu but when at the chefs table..and only the chefs table, you can request the chef to "cook for you" and he will do a personal menu for you. He may prepare on menu or off, you are in his hands. The chef is right there the whole time working around the kitchen. He talks to you, tell you about dishes and answers any questions you may have.

Simply put it was amazing and it would break my wallet if I lived close to that restaurant.

That looks like the Strawberry marinated duck with asian beet salad. I had this on my trip last week. Strawberries are dried overnight in the oven, ground, and then rubbed on the duck and marinated for several hours. The combination of the duck, salad and the accompanying sauces was superb.
