I just finished The Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer. This was the first one of his books I have read and I was a little disappointed....I wanted more mystery and info on the main story and less just chasing each other and hitting people. But all in all it was a good read just not a great read

Just read about Under the Dome by Stephen King it will be coming out in November. Sounds pretty interesting...a few similarities to The Stand which I loved!

It's not the pace of life than concerns me... it's the sudden stop at the end.

I finished Lighting Their Fires by Rafe Esquith this afternoon. Fabulous, but not as good as Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire. He really is a good man. This is his new book and geared more towards parents than teachers.

I can't wait to read this...though I admit it will be a while before I get to it, so I'll be looking on the internet for spoilers.

I am about 125 pages into it and it was no problem just jumping into it..the hard part was finding a stopping point!

I'm reading The Lost Symbol. Meh. It's the same as DaVinci...just different people and different places. It feels forced somehow. I'm not loving it.

Looking forward to Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton who died earlier this year but the unpublished manuscript for Latitudes was discovered and will be out later this year.
And I'm looking forward to the new King novel as well.

And then I'm going start on the Sookie Stackhouse books.

thats the biggest scam going ... Frank Herbert, Tolkien, they written more books after their death than I can count .. I bet King will be publishing books for decades after his death

Having finished the Harry Potter series (amazing books, but not on the top of my list), I've decided to move on to The Memory Keeper's Daughter.

Good idea? Bad idea?

BTW, am I the only one not reading The Lost Symbol right now? A lot of people I know are. I always thought Dan Brown had way more popularity than he deserved. The new reviews for his book so far are proving me right. I dunno, maybe I judge too harshly.

Just finished Devil's Garden by Ace Atkins. Am now hooked on his writing. Finding myself drawn to "histroical" fiction now. Devil's Garden takes place during the trial of "Fatty" Arbuckle, anyone that knows the story behind it, will know it's a little risque, but I found it a great read, looking forward to reading some of Atkins previous stories.
I am really looking forward to Crighton's book. I too hope they don't try to go too far with "lost" manuscripts, I can understand one, maybe two, but I think there's a limit when fans will realize someone's going overboard.
