Which Water Park - Little Kids?
Which water park is best for little kids, and why?
My little princess is 7, but developmentally still a preschooler. She is 48 inches high. She does not know how to swim, but has found fun playing in the water. This summer she has even started to move around underwater. She loves playing in the sand.

We take our little princesses to Typhoon Lagoon. They have a cute little kid area (Ketchakiddee Creek) with small slides, fountains and waterfalls and there is sand too!! My girls love the little raft ride too, where the kids get their own little inner tube and go on a mini raft ride.
Plus, Leaning Palms has kid's meals served in a sail pail with a shovel!!!

We took our daughter to both when she was three. She loved both kids areas, and as a family we really loved both waterparks.

We took ours to both but I think BB has a larger kiddie area with more in the way of smaller sized slides.

Both of the kids areas at Typhoon Lagoon and BB list 48" as the maximum. Is your daughter likely to measure higher than that?
If she is, you might want to talk iwth a special needs coordinator to see how best to manage. The kids area at Typhoon Lagoon, ketchakiddee creek is for "2-5" year olds. As I recall the Blizzard Beach kids area was larger, and there seemed to be more older kids, which means that your DD would be more of a size with them. Blizzard Beach has a "ski patrol" area that is for older kids; my 7 yo loved it; but many of them require upper body strength, etc. the wave pool at Blizzard Beach is gentler than TL, but TL has an area on the side that is gentler. The big waves in the wave pool proper can be pretty scary to younger kids. I would clear up the 48" question before making definite plans to go to either of them. |
