ok im a huge marching and concert band geek so i decided to make a thread where all band geeks come and talk about the funny and embarassing moments of their band memories
so past or present bandies come and talk

ok i will start the posting last year at band camp my section leaders trumpet (i play trumpet!!!) got torn apart by a tuba player and he lost half of the parts of his brand new trumpet!!! HAHA

I play clarinet. One memory I have is that one of my baritone friends bent over to stretch in his marching pants and they ripped straight down the butt. Well all the parents had was pink and green string for the colorguard so we all got to laugh at him

. Also we started band camp this week and I have my first band crush!

This is just too good to be true. I just got home from drum major academy (Junior drum major this year, formerly of the clarinet section.) and I'm going through huge withdrawals.

To get us onto a topic, has anyone here ever seen a DCI show? I saw one last night, and I fell in love with the Boston Crusaders.

and i havent seen the show and ive seen them they are great their balance of instruments are wonderful

YAY BANDOS!

I usually play saxophone but for this marching season I'm on the drumline playing cymbals. We have dress up day this week and our marching show is danny elfman...i.e spiderman/beetle juice

I'm in my FIRST year of Marching BAND and I'm already a nerd for it.

I mean...i was the band geek back in elementary/middle school.
I am the BIGGEST band freak ...ever. XD

When I talk to my friends, we talk about parts of the instrument and where we need more dynamic contrast.

Just got the song we're playing this year in an email.
PHEW! It's AMAZING.

WAY better then the previous years. They've all been so...slow and boring. This years, is soo cool.

I've been wantin' that marching horn...for..soo...soooOOO long. I've been practicing getting used to the weight with soup cans.

I'll be sittin' there watchin' TV...with soup cans...pretending it's my horn.

I'm cruisin, but I still have my land legs!
