New BLT add on questions

We attended the Vacation as You Wish event on Thursday just to be nosey and get a sneak peak and some freebies. We were so awed by BLT we ended up adding on! (Nice work, Disney! lol)


Now we have some new questions though - two in particular that came up after we had left the event. We asked the DVC reps around the parks, but none of them coule help us. We tried to reach our guide, but neither he nor the one we met with on Thursday ever returned the call. I'm sure he will, but at this point, we're impatient, so I thought maybe someone here could explain.

Question 1: We added on 50 points with a September Use Year. After closing, will we have 50 points already in our account and then another 50 as of September 2009? Or will we just get the 50 as of September 2009 and have nothing available (except to borrow) until then?


Question 2: We have gotten developer points (I think that's what they're called?) for our BWV contract and the previous years unused points for our last add on. Are they offering "free" points for new BLT owners? I vaguely remembered something about incentive points to be used at SSR, but that was very early on, and I assume just a promotion at that time.

Question 3: If our closing is early September and we wanted to make a reservation for next July, are we out of luck for the 11-month booking? We are hoping to get a MK view for a couple of nights of our trip, and I think that calling on that first day is going to be important, so we may not be able to do it next year.

1. There are no 2008 points for BLT.

2. Based on the pricing information at dvcnews.com, they are not currently giving out developer points.

3. Your add-on doesn't have to close to be able to make reservations. You can call when the booking window opens.

The DVC reps in the parks and resorts are not sale people. The are just there to get you over to the sales center at SSR. They may but probably will not know the same information as your guide.

Your first set of points will be for Sept 09 UY. For 50 point add ons, the incentive right now is $5.00 off per point. Since you attended a special event, you may have been offered a bigger discount. But that is all they are giving right now, no developer points.

Your new BLT points should already be in your membership and available for reservations. We added on with BLT points in Feb with a June UY and booked the very next day our ressie for Dec. So, you should be able to book your reservation as soon as your 11 month window opens up!!!
