We're on the second floor off Zebra Trail. First thing I saw from the balcony was a giraffe. This place is amazing!

Also, one transportation question: How was ME (how often did it stop on its way to AKL and did it drop off at Kidani first or at Jambo?)? And how were the busses to the parks?? I always loved AKL transportation and hope it is still great!
ME was great! We were in the lobby of Kidani about an hour and 20 minutes after walking off the aircraft. 3 stops: Coronado, Jambo, then Kidani.

Busses to and from the parks were likewise great. Couple of long waits (20+ minutes). One due to dispatching glitch, one due to the bomb scare. Other than that...no problems.

Kidani's bus stops are being torn apart, so all the busses are stopping in front of the porte cochere (where the ME bus would normally stop) and there can be some bunch ups...but nothing all that long.

It'll be awhile.

We have 700+ photos to offload from the cameras, wade through, and then I'll pick some to upload and post. We haven't even started that process yet. My wife has been working on the photopass pics, prepping them so we could order our photo CD. She turned 165 photos into somewhere north of 800 pics. Finished today.

We plan on working on the camera stuff by the end of the week.....

Just wanted to post a quick note about the lodge when we first checked in. I had checked in online and there was no line for the online check-in. There were only a few people in the line for standard check-in, so I don't know that it saved us too much time. The CM was very, very nice. He told Jeckle that Mickey had stopped by with a button for her birthday and also gave one to my mom (who was thinking some ugliness at me, I suspect). Heckle also got a button, which was nice.

The room was very clean. The only issue was on the bottom of the top bunk bed, where previous residents had scrawled a few things. I don't blame mousekeeping for that - I don't know that it's a place where you'd routinely check for dirt and I just told my daughter that it was because some people didn't respect the property of others.

The pool is wonderful! We spent about an hour there yesterday. There were plenty of chairs and the weather was perfect. Heckle wanted to go to the hot tub.

Our iHome doesn't work, so I'll ask about getting that replaced, but otherwise everything is pretty perfect. We ate at the Mara yesterday. I had the stew, which was great. A little sweet and spiced with cinnamon. My mom had the veggie flatbread and the girls had the pizza (well, Heckle ate Jeckle's, who seems to be off her feed).

Not a radio shack in sight and I remembered to bring my coffee!

Oh, and I was secretly hoping I'd dislike zebra domes. Yeah, they're pretty tasty. The only one who wouldn't try them was Jeckle. She's like Mike - she hates everything.

Ummmm...that depends.

There are a multitude of public areas from which to view the animals...so if that's your concern, you'll be fine. You'll likely find one about 10 to 20 steps from your "front door" as the hallways are literally lined with windows between "room banks".

However, the standard view rooms at Kidani include a good number of what I'd call "parking lot views". Even the rooms overlooking the pool have an expanse of "parking lot" between you and the pool complex. My family is BIG on the view from the room...we spend a decent amount of time on our balcony...either just hanging out in the AM (eating breakfast, having coffee) or to relax at night (nothing beats a cold adult beverage out there after the kids are in bed...except maybe a cold adult beverage in the whirlpool tub). WE wouldn't book the standard view rooms unless we had no choice. But that's just us.

That being said....not everyone feels that way. Many feel they spend so little time in the room that the extra points just aren't "worth" the view. So it will largely depend on your perspective.

One caveat: The standard view rooms near the lobby overlook the porte cochere (the entrance) and the bus stops. I haven't been in one, but they look, to me, like they might be a bit "loud". You might want to request being a bit further from the lobby, if possible.

Wow, with all of these people at WDW, I'm getting excited for my December trip. Kidani here I come in a little over 2 months!

In other news, last week, I booked Kidani for my trip with my 13 year old nephew next August. Please tell me that I will survive WDW in August because I will be going 2 years in a row!

I also added on at VGC while I was on the cruise earlier this month. So I ended up changing my non-Disney vacation for next year to a partial Disney vacation. So it will be a few days at DL and then a couple of days visiting some of the So. California National Parks.

Good for you, Roberta! Which parks are you thinking of visiting? We absolutely loved Sequoia!
