Wii Sports Resort

Has anyone played this yet? We just got home with our copy. Pretty bummed out when we found out on the cover of the game (NOT THE BOX) that the new Wii Motion Plus is REQUIRED. It comes with one inside but you can not play a 2 person game without it.

I didn't know the motion plus was required...

How is the game, though? As good as reviews make it seem?

It's not REQUIRED. You can play but it won't pick it up as well. And yes that sucks. We LOVE the game though. I am a sky diving champion! And my kids are loving the bowling and frisbee.

I am going to buy another of those things though. Stinks. Particularly since it is $25 at Gamestop. Toys had it for $14 on Sunday I don't know if that was part of the early deal though or if that's still the price. I have to check it out.

What makes the bowling better or different than in Wii Play?

Not so much- but the sensitivity is better and control is better on the ball- so you get better results. It's not as frustrating for my guys. But honestly there are so many other games to play in the resort. The sky diving is funny!

Did you ever get Little Big Planet?? That's still the hot one in our house.

OMG, my boys (and the other neighborhood kids) are loving this game! I did buy the extra motion sensor but we have been having a blast. I really like the swordfighting, although I suck!

Someone loaned it to me. I had it for about 3 days. It was "ok". I am mostly playing on my PS3 these days, though not even much.

I bought a basic mac computer and I am having fun learning iMovie and a new DJ program.... while trying to write a serious blog.....

Oh no! I will have them check it out again. My son was playing it with the Wii Motion on his WiiMote and my husband was going to play ping pong but it said player 2 did not have the Wii Motion attached. I was on the laptop so I didnt really pay that much attention to them LOL.

My son had a great time playing it. I asked him if he noticed any difference and he did not.

We bought it as a surprise for our kids on Sunday and were very disappointed when we all 4 tried to play and got this same message. We couldn't figure out how to play it without the Motion and I refuse to pay over $100 after all is said for a video game. DH took it back to GameStop that day and got a full refund.

By the way....I saw in Target's paper that they have the Motion attachments for $20.00 for anyone looking for them.

I would love for someone to tell us how to play with the regular remotes. If we could figure that out then I would go and purchase it again. The kids were pretty bummed that we had to take it back.

AACK I AM WRONG! You do need the motion plus on both remotes! I'M SORRY! My kids were sharing the same remote I thought one was using the regular one.

Crud Toys had it on sale for $14 on Sunday but it was just a Sunday morning sale. I did see TONS of the game though so maybe they'll have to cut the price on it. Fingers crossed for that.

Again I am so sorry I was misinformed!

Oh no worries! I was just a bit annoyed that the "required" statement was on the game inside the box. It was not on the outside...it just said there that it was included.

We are kinda bummed out as the game itself was already not in the budget but we picked it up figuring it would be something fun for us to stay in and play and then to come to find out we all can't even play it without investing $40.00 more into the game!
