Would you do DDP or CL in December? PLEASE read my anguish!
Little bit of a thought jam. Currently I booked under a bounceback code at YC (better deal than Free Dining). I could add the DDP for 100 a day or pay 94 a day for Club Level. Party of 3. DD is 9. I did BOTH in June - DDP and CL at BWI and really enjoyed it but having a hard time justifying both this time in Dec. Here are my thoughts:
1. DDP - ADRs will be tough to get with free dining so I potentially could be dining at places or times I otherwise would not have picked but don't want to lose a table service credit. 2. Club Level - while I could make a meal on it, DD9 is picky and DH is hungry! So this would serve us for breakfast for sure and we would be out of pocket on a big lunch and maybe get away with CS for dinner using the appetizers at CLub Level to fill in. 3. That being said, here is the part I am torn. BWI gives you a great view at Club Level for a flat rate. No BW view vs. garden view. You get a good view at a flat rate. YC and BC toy with you. You could end up with a parking lot view staying CLub Level unless you upgrade to water view which is way too costly for me. Yet YC/BC offer SAB but end Nov. Dec dicey swim weather.. Here are my choices: 1. YC - STandard Room. NO DDP, NO CL, make my own ADrs and hope for the best. 2. YC/BC/BWI - CL - but which resort? So of the options what holds the most appeal? I will say I stayed BWI CL in June and loved it so was thinking YC/BC would offer a different twist on a favorite area but I am hating the difference in CL cost for a view there... Oh and for the heck of it, I priced out the DDP at WL and YC was only 100 more and that would have been me adding the DDP to the YC reservation which I haven't done yet. So I am for sure wanting to stick with a deluxe resort and not use Free Dining. THANK YOU! |

I would go with Club Level at the Boardwalk because in my opinion it's to much food while on the DDP. Besides that I personally think the Boardwalk has a better theme and atmopshere then both the Yacht Club and Beach Club. Also I have read that when the lounges at the Yacht Club and Beach Club are not searving food, it's closed off and you can not sit in there.

Thank you, CR. The only thing swaying me is the SAB and just a different resort feel. ever have such an awesome vacation that I hesitate to try to duplicate it b/c I don't want to compare it? That is how I feel about my June stay. Just loved it and dont' want December to fall short for whatever reason. There are a few table service ADRs that my family really enjoys so I am going to TRY to get them but secretly hope I can't as then CL value goes up!
Do you think this is too risky - stick with YC standard room. Upon check in, ask if CL is available and could I SEE the view first? That way if it is a nice view I will pay otherwise I will pass whereas if I book I am stuck with a garden view that might be a parking lot. Guess I am kind of banking on YC having CL 11/29 - 12/5. But then I will know the view, etc. Wise or not?

I guess if one of the Club Level rooms at the Yacht Club is available they might let you see the room, however I am not 100% sure about that. The reason is what if someone else checking wants to upgrade and that happens to be the only room left, unless they put that room on hold until you make a decision. Plus what if you arrived and found out the Club Level room was sold out, so maybe that's another reason to plan what you want in advance before you arrive.
