Travel to WDW - XMas Eve or XMas day?

Wondering which you would choose and why.

Travel is by plane on SWA (so not likely to change).

What do you see as the pros and cons to each?

(This is for a friend, thanks a lot. )

Edited OP to reflect they're traveling by plane. Thanks.

IMHO, your friend needs to arrive Xmas eve, check in, make a wake up call, and hit the ground running on Xmas Day. If he or she intends to visit a park on Xmas day, they would be wise to be there well before rope drop. The MK WILL close to guests at some point on Xmas day, and he or she needs to be in their park of choice well before the masses arrive.

MK will open at 7am. We were there at 6:40am on Xmas week and we accomplished so much before all the sleepyheads arrived later that morning! We breezed through TTC while later in the morning, it's a madhouse!

Just my opinion!

Its christmas day for me. The DB's will have their time at home with the extended family for the early chrismas activities (christmas eve, mass, etc...) and then the family can start their own christmas vacation at disney on christmas day.

This may sound like a dumb question, but I've never been there for XMas.

Are there any special activities or events at the parks that make them a "must do" on XMas day?

What about at the resorts?
