Pirate League RAVE!!!

We just returned from a week long trip with my DH, mom, 3yo and 1yo. Based on the information I found on this site, we scheduled a reservation for my 3yo at the Pirate League... We really didn't know what to expect, but since my son loves pirates, we thought we'd go for it. When we did arrive, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and my somewhat shy-at-first son opened up pretty quickly. My DH upgraded the package when he saw the costumes (yippee!). My son wanted to be Captain Hook, so that's what we went with.

The CM were great and stayed in character the whole time. My poor little guy was very excited, but because of the timing of a few things that day, he didn't get to take a nap. Well, his pirate (i didn't get his name, but he was great!) that did his face paint, started the transformation, and my poor little guy fell fast asleep! Talk about funny!!! Luckily another CM had come over to hold his head, and he was well supported. We weren't sure at first if he was out, because he loves getting his face painted, so for a 3yo he will keep his eyes closed and stay still. But sure enough, we were able to put his hand on the hook, and his hat on, and he was still out!!! Everyone was so great and my son had a ball.

After we left the Pirate League, I'm sure more than a few people caught glimpses of my little Captain Hook having sword fights with his mommy and daddy throughout the park. It was such a joy to see his face and how much fun he had with the whole thing. I can't wait to go back and definitely do it again with the little one and him again.

Awesome time and an awesome group of people working in there. If I could figure out how to post a picture, I'll get one of my little captain hook.

And now when we show him the pictures and video, he tells us he wasn't sleeping, he was just closing his eyes while his face was being painted.

THANKS TO ALL THE CMs that helped make this such a special experience!

Thanks for posting this. I was reading about the Pirate League and I wasn't sure if it was something for my triplet 3yr old boys or not. After reading your post, I'm thinking on scheduling a session for them when we go in November. Any suggestions/tips?

The whole process really didn't take that long. I would say from start to finish it was less than an hour. Since my son was kind of shy, it took him a little while to warm up during the first part. After he went into the room where they do the face painting, he was super excited and it was fast from there. They were really good, and it was great to see how in character they were.

As for suggestions and tips, take lots of pictures before and after. We have really enjoyed looking through all of them since we got back. We went into the Pirates of the Caribbean soon after, and he enjoyed having all of the pirates talking to him. My son's face was a wreck within a few hours (mostly due to the heat), but we didn't care. He had such a great time! I can't gush enough about the experience.

This sounds very cool. Can anyone tell me if the pirate oath is long. We want to program into our DS's communication device so he can "recite" it too.
We are so looking forward to our first family vacation.

Sorry about forgetting this part... yes, it was long. Because my son had just woken up from his little catnap, my DH said it for him. We recorded it, so we could hear it again. It was very cute and funny.

I would love to see pics. I showed DS the pics but he doesn't seem interested in going. He is going to be 10 when we go and I think a bit too old for it already.

Thanks for sharing. We have an 8 y/o traveling with us in 2 weeks and I was curious. Although...forget the 8 y/o...I might do it!
It sounds pretty cool. My BFF and I did BBB last year (DH is still crabbing) so this year, we can all be pirates!

Pictures... hopefully

Here is a picture of the little guy sleeping:
(i hope this works...)

Posing with the sign (i have a before and after picture with the sign)... I wish he was on the other side, but someone was sitting right next to this and didn't want to move.

More awake now!

And with the teeth.

Tomorrow he's wearing the Captain Hook costume to preschool for come as your favorite character day. He's very excited!

While we were in there we saw other pirates (ghost pirates, not sure of their "official" costume name) and they looked great too!

Love the pictures. I booked this for my son today for 10/23. He already has a Capt. Hook costume(which he wears daily) what other choices are there?
Thanks,
Mary Kay
