Could someone please give me some advice?

We are going to WDW for 9 days. DH's grandma is going with us. She will need to have some assistance in the parks everyday. I don't know what is the best option.
1. rent a wheelchair from an outside co for the 9 days
2. rent a EVC from an outside co for 9 days
3. rent a wheelchair each day from the park
4. rent a wheelchair from resort for a week

She is able to walk, fairly well, but we just know that she will wear out and her hip will start bothering her midday. Can you fold up a wheelchair and bring it onto the bus or do you have to "ride" in the wheelchair each transfer?

Any advise will be appreciated.

I can tell you that my father has pretty much the same problem as your mom and what has worked best for us was renting an EVC from an outside co.

The wheelchair options leave you or someone else pushing the chair and there is no independance on their part. My father was VERY resistant to any help but once he realized that this was only going to enhance his and his grandchildren's enjoyment of WDW he was on board.

The EVC was there at check-in and he was able to manuver through the resort and if he and DMom wanted to go to the parks or to dinner by themselves they could because she would not have been able to push him in the wheelchair all day.

Are there any problems with the batteries running on an EVC? I'd hate to be stranded!

The batteries on a standard ECV will provide service for about 25 miles on a full charge. And most of the vendors will check their equipment when it is returned to see that the batteries are still good. As long as ou plug it in overnight while asleep there should be no problems.

I guess that's the way to go then. I would be nice to have Gma have the freedom of wondering over look at something if she so wishes.
