Question Type of Disney tickets to buy, i am confussed

Hello everyone,

I am a little confussed about these tickets as there appears to be so many different type of passes to buy.
When we went to Disneyland Paris last year we just bought 2 tickets
*The main Disney one *Studios Park

Please could everyone explain what tickets we need?

We are staying 14days 30th April -14th May

I know that we definately need a 2 week pass for the Main Disney Parks
But i have learnt that there is a seperate ticket for:

Water Parks
Seaworld
Adventure Island (cant remember name)
Bucsh Gardens
Universal Studio

Now must we purchase the 'Flexi Tickets' for the above??

I do want to see most things if we can as it is our 1st ever trip, and we would like the freedom of going to any of these parks when we like.

We have been qouted by Thomson £1200 for a 14 days Main Disney Park Pass and a 14 day Flexi ticket.
For 2 adults and 1 child

Does that sound about right? Or is that expensive?

You, like me, seem to want to visit ALL of the parks and make the most of your trip....

The two tickets you have mentioned, the 14 day ultimate Disney and the Orlando Flexi 14 day ticket will most definately give you the freedom to come and go as you please and hop from park to park as many times as you like!

Orlando-ticket-deals.co.uk have the flexi ticket and the disney ultimate ticket for £1094 in total for 2 adults and 1 child! Saving you £106 shopping money?!

If you go for the flexi plus ticket (all details of included parks on website above), it will be £1184 so similar to the quote you have had!

I would say these are most definately the best tickets if you want total freedom and flexibility....

Hi lisa, thanks so much for all that info
Sounds like the Flexi Plus and Ultimate Disney tickets are both the right ones for us too.
Because it is our 1st trip we definately want the freedom of going in any park for the 2 weeks.
The price you give is a bit cheaper, sounds fab. Only problem is that we cant afford to pay that in full at the moment, so if we book it with Thomson we have until next Feb to pay it
I feel better knowing i will be buying the correct tickets and the price is about right.
Have a fab trip hun, when are you going?
Im soooooooooo excited cant wait!

Im getting married there this year..........cant think of a better place to do it!! So excited....cant wait....

You might want to consider taking a coupel of parks out of your touring plans, especially with a little one. Maybe leave Busch for another trip? Granted I don't know much about Busch, but I think it's a lot of big, intense rides.

We are going for 2 weeks and are only going to be doing Disney, and even then I think we won't have enough time to do anything.

The tickets are very expensive so if you are planning on having any relaxing or shopping days, then maybe have a look into each of the parks and check you do want to definitely visit them all, before paying for tickets to all of them.

Good idea Torsie,
I need to do more research. We definately want to do the main Disney parks and also fancy the 2 water parks and seaworld.
But problem is we plan to do a visit to a couple of shopping Malls at the weekends instead of going to a busy park at the weekend.
Perhaps at the weekend we can visit a couple of malls on the Saturday and on the Sunday do 1 of the water parks to get it out of the way.
OR is it still not a good idea doing a water park at the weekend, due to it being busy?

As I posted yesterday, you need to decide if you want to do both Disney waterparks and offsite waterparks, for us the 2 Disney ones are enough, if they are for you then the flex ticket is probably not your best option. Buying seperate as I posted here http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...19&postcount=5 would be cheaper buying a Flex ticket you could be paying for too many parks you won't have time to do.
Buying separate works out from £129per adult, compared to Thomsons flexplus at £206 http://www.tickettrips.co.uk/orlando-flexticket.asp

Sara, your best bet will be to actually do a timetable, make a list of the parks you definately want to do.....

Once you know the parks you want to do, then looking into the tickets you will know exactly what you need.

The 14 day Disney Ultimate ticket in my opinion is a must, the 2 waterparks are included, I only usually do these 2 waterparks, I dont bother with Wet 'n Wild. As stated in a previous post, Busch is quite good for older kids/adults but not as much for small children.

It is definately possible to do the 4 Disney Parks, 2 Disney Waterparks, Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios and Seaworld in your 2 week holiday - thats 9 days if you do a full day in each and leaves you with 5 days to either revisit your faves and fit some shopping in!!!!!

I do this many parks everytime I go, its part of the fun and not too much in my opinion!!! I will usually park hop though, instead of say a full day at MK, I will do half a day there then get the monorail to Epcot and do half a day there too!!!! You will find out what suits...every1 is different!!

Just dont stress about it...enjoy the planning....

i am the same when booking, i need the flexability to pay it up, so im oing with thomas cook again.

if you find your tickets cheaper on line, take proof to your travel agents, and they should price match it for you, thats what i am doing just now, i found my holiday for £400 cheaper, and TC will price match it,

last year was my first hoilday there, we only done disney, (and myself and oldest dd wentt o discovery cove) we couldnt even fit in a water park lol.

this year again will be mostly disney but i also plan on fitting in a 2 day ticket to universal. its true 2 weeks is just not long enough lol

As others have said above, before you buy your tickets you definitely need to plan out what you've got time for!

first job is to consider how many days are needed for each park remembering that EVERYTHING is bigger in WDW than what you experienced in DLP!

MK is at least a 2 day park - probably more like 3
Epcot is a 2 day park.
Studios is maybe a 2 day park
Animal Kingdom, Univeral Studios, IOA and seaworld are all full day parks

and by a day, I mean from opening to until closing! with small kids you may only manage half a day in the park per day realisticly? So you could potentially double those numbers! Even then, you probably wont do every ride/attraction.

Also remember that its gonna be hot.... very hot even in April, so the kids will tire quicker!

You also need to bear in mind that unlike DLP (where you can move from one park to the other in minutes), the Disney parks are not right next to each and you have to use transport to get from one to another.

The first time we went to WDW, our children were 10 and 8, we went for 11 nights and just did Disney and typhoon lagoon, and we still didn't do everything at those parks. So definitely make out a rough itinerary, and research the parks to be sure that the rides are suitable for your little one. My gut feeling would be for you to do:- Disney, Disney water parks and Seaworld. You will then have time to shop, relax and enjoy!

Thanks everyone,

I think you are all right, i am going to have to study each park and roughly guess how many days we will need for each Park/Land.

Can someone please explain how you travel from each park? I am confussed I think i am imagining to like Disneyland paris where you walk to each park/land.

Which Parks can you walk too? And which ones must be get transport too??
Is the transport Provided by the park.. eg.. Disney buses or must we drive to each one?

Thanks for your help, im just trying to picture it.

If you're staying offsite in a vila then basicly none of the parks are walkable so you'll need to drive to each of them.

Once you're at one park, you could in theory use the disney buses/monorails/boats to get to other disney parks/locations. Although you'll probably want to spend full days at parks anyway so thats not going to really help much!

Its maybe also worth studying google maps or microsofts maps to get feel for how far apart everything is.

You can get around on Disneys monorails or buses to the parks!

You can drive if you would prefer, once you have paid to park, the ticket can be used for the rest of that day in any other park. You do not have to pay to park at the Waterparks (or at least you didnt last time I was there).

It is really easy to get around the parks in my opinion. I would use the monorail when travelling between Magic Kingdom and Epcot and we tend to take the car when travelling between any of the others!!
