Chef Mickeys - great food and good time

I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to take my DD and DSIL for her birthday dinner to Chef Mickeys. It had also been a long time since we had been to Chef Mikeys. In fact, the last time we ate there it was in the Village (before it was DTD) and was a table service restaurant - long time!!

But we had 8:15 ADR's and walked right in. had our picture taken and then shown to a table. The children that were there at this time were great. There were no running around or screaming children. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto came to every table and we were able to get bunches of pictures with them. When I made the ADR, I was asked if we were celebrating anything and I told them it was my DD's birthday. I was asked if I wanted a princess cake, but I knew she wouldn't be too thrilled with one, so I said no. It was noted on all of the printouts we received that it was her birthday and when it was announced that Mickey and friends were going to celebrate in a few minutes, a CM came over to the table with a cupcake and candle for her.

The food was wonderful. We all had plenty to enjoy and went back for seconds on some. The beef was the melt in your mouth type! The desserts were wonderful and we had a great meal.

Afterwards we walked around the shops and then went downstairs to watch the fireworks - fabulous show.

I'm so pleased we did this. It was a great time.

Glad to hear you had a great time at Chef Mickey's! We are eating there in August and some of the mixed reviews on here had me a bit worried!

Thanks for the review. There are so many mixed reviews, it is good to hear that you had a nice meal. I have never been. I would like to take someone there for a special occasion!

It came as a shocker that DH(buffet hater for the longest time) requested CM for our last trip. Last year, it was only him and me(w/o my teen) He loved it so much last time. That's why we returned this year upon his request. The food was great. Our server was extremely cheerful and efficient which made our experience(DS's first time at CM) memorable.
A must do for us(if ADR's available)

Oh I am so pleased to read a good review of CM - sounds like you had a lovely evening!

I have booked dinner here and I was seriously thinking of cancelling and trying to get in elsewhere.

This review has reassured me (and I seriously NEED to visit the Dessert Bar)

I guess it's all on the day - as with anywhere.

Thanks for sharing!

Good to hear a glowing review about CM! DH fell in love with the Contemporary, so even if we don't get to stay there on our next vacation, I'd like to eat at CM, but I was a little worried from reading some of the other reviews. Glad to hear you had a good time!
