Meals with a larger group

Hi all!! I need a little bit of advice. A friend and I have booked our families at Disney at the same time. We are staying at separate places, but have named ourselves a Grand Gathering. We aren't attending any GG events, but thought it would be fun to have a name.

Anyway...there are few meals we would like to do together. My question is this, should these reservations be made as separate parties or big groups? Would it be easier to get the reservations if we divided up into small parties and just asked to sit close to each other??

Our Cast:
Filburn Family
Grandma
Papa
Dad
Me
DD (7)
DS (2)

Cortez Family
Dad
Mom
DD (7)
DD (4)
NB Son (8 weeks ish)

We are staying the first week of December.

Here are the meals we would like to have together.

Tusker House Breakfast Earliest ADR before park opens
Attending: 5A, 3C, 1 HC
Filburn (3A, DD, DS)
Cortez (2A, 2C, baby)

1900 Park Fare Dinner
Attending: Everyone (6A, 3C, 1HC)

The Garden Grill (Early Dinner First Available)
Attending: Everyone (6A, 3C, 1HC)

We went as a group of 11 in January and were all seated together at Jiko, Boma, Cape May, Crystal Palace, Tusker House...

At Sci Fi we were seated in 2 cars side by side and at Coral Reef we were seated at a Table for 6 right next to a booth for 5.

I think they try very hard to seat the large groups together. I was impressed that we had so many meals where we were all together.
