What I Wore - Feet and Shoes

I was worried about what I should wear on my feet before I left - I ended up packing my sneakers and the leather sandals that I usually wear in the summer.

For most of the trip, my sandals were fine. I found that when my feet began to feel as if they were being rubbed that a quick application of baby powder fixed it.

After touring the MK I switched to my sneakers for a trip to DTD and the change of shoes was nice but I never wore them after that night.

So - my advice is - wear what you usually wear in the summer and have a strategy for sore feet. Baby powder worked for me. I never got a blister - just tired feet!

I usually just wear my trusty Converse Chucks when I'm at WDW. Sometimes I wear my Mary Jane Disney Crocs, but usually with socks because otherwise the sweating would create sores.

I only wear "comfort" shoes - danskos, Softspots, Sofft, CLarks etc. I have crocs but don't wear them a ton - comfortable but not enough support for disney IMO. I don't find tennis shoes comfortable so usually wear a sandal with a wedge heel. On our April trip I wore my FitFlops every day and was surprised how comfy and supportive they were. No blisters or irritataion. I also like to rotate shoes every day and backed 3 or 4 pairs but each morning I went back to these.

I just got a pair of Keen Newports that seem to be a good choice. I have a month to break them in, but they're already awesome. I think baby powder is a great idea to prevent/stop the rubbing.

DH and I are going in September and we got the type of sports sandals that look like a cross between a sandal and a running shoe - mine are Tevas and his are Merrills. We've been wearing them on our morning walks to get in shape - and they're great, extremely comfortable. We plan on getting running shoes (people here have mentioned New Balance a lot) so we'll be able to trade off.
