Tonight as been HELL for me!

Lets start from the beginning. This morning, when I woke up I had a few texts from my friends Kelsey R, Whitney, and Kelsey M asking me if I wanted to go to the movies with them tonight. Well my mom told me I couldn't because it's a 30 minute drive and it was gonna be raining bad.

About 7pm I got a call from my friend Marie asking if I was at the hospital. I was like uhmm, no? why would I be. And she said because Kelsey and them got in a wreck.

I hung up and dialed Kelsey R's mom, because she is my bestfriend. But she didn't answer. Well I called Marie back and found out what hospital, and i grabbed my purse and told my mom and we was pulling out of the drive way 5 minutes later.

I called Kelsey's aunt and found out that they we're in the ER and what rooms. When we got there, all the parents and uncles and family friends were in the waiting room. I sat down beside her aunt, and her little cousin looked at me, and said Kelsi aren't you glad you wasn't with them, you would've gotten smushed just like them.

I almost broke down, but right when I looked up Kelsey's step-dad walked up and said that we could go back there. My mom, her aunt, and I walked back into the room and when I saw her I just felt chills up and down my body.

I sat in that room with her, her mom, step-dad, dad, and step-mom for 4 hours with everyone walking in and out. When I first walked in, I went to the side where they had cleaned all the blood off of her face, well after a little while I walked over by my mom on the other side.

When I saw that side I felt like I was about to throw up, I looked at my mom and said 'mama, I have to go outside, I can't breath.. I need something to drink.' So we walked out and all of the sudden I couldn't barely hear anything around me, all I could hear was static and the smallest things. Like people walking would sound like it was blaring in my ears.

I walked out and got something to drink, and decided to go back in there without my mom.

She has a broken nose. Her right eye is swollen shut and has a slice across the eye lid. And she has a big gash across her left hand.

What her mom told me that happened was, since it was raining and the roads were wet, they hit a big puddle and like hydroplane and swerved. Her first instinct of coarse was to stop the truck, which is hit the brakes. Well everyone knows you DON'T do that. She knew that, but when something like that happens, you panic and don't really know what to do. Well they flipped five times across the highway and hit the side of a bridge they skidded too. The truck smashed a V-shaped hole in the side of the concrete bridge.

When they stopped, the truck was up-side down and they had to crawl out of the passenger side window. A witness stopped and called 911. And Kelsey gave him her step-dad's number, so thats how they found out.

Kelsey M and Whitney weren't banged up to bad, they just had seat-belt burns real bad, and cuts from going out the window.

They we're in her step-dads double cab Nissan Titan. Thankfully, they wasn't in her little 2 door civic. I don't think they would've made it out of that.

The airbag is what busted her nose and eye, and the window is what sliced her hand. So thankfully, the airbag came out.. it would've been loads worse if it wouldn't have.

I've always believed in God, but after this I know for a fact someone is watching over us. They really we're truly blessed tonight.

oh my god , you are so lucky .
i would have broke down crying in the hospital seeing my friend like that , and thinking that it could have been me .

OMG..that's horrible. I'm so glad they are okay!!
I would have been a huge wreck if my BFFs were in an accident.
Thank God they weren't any more seriously injured!!

It's very gruesome to sit down and think "OMG, that could've been me", isn't it? It really puts things in perspective for you. I know how it feels and it is a horrible, horrible feeling. And if something ever runs through your mind like "I feel bad for them but I'm glad it wasn't me", don't feel bad, just don't.

Your friends will be in my thoughts and prayers.

ohmigosh! I'm so glad they're okay!
I got into a car accident this winter which everyone was suprised that I didn't get hurt by, but I completely walked away from it!
They will probably REALLY sore for a while, cause for me, I couldn't move my left side because my musles hurt too much. and I hope they gain the courage to drive again!
it took me like a month to drive again!
I'm so glad they're okay tho! that sounds bad! good thing they WEREN'T in that little care!

I just got off the phone with Kelsey R's mom. She said they ended up having to keep her over night.

Last night after I left, they glued that cut on her eye and they fixed what was broken on her nose.

They kept her over night because they couldn't put the stitches in her hand because of swelling. So they're going to do that about 2pm, and then she can go home.

She'll have to go back Tuesday to have surgery done on her hand. When it hit on the window, it gashed it open and broke all her knuckles. So she has to have all that fixed up.

After all that's done, it's just alot of sore-ness and bruises. She'll be black and blue for these next couple of months.

Post traumatic stress won't kick in dramatically until six months after the accident. So I guess we'll just have to wait it out and see how she does.

Thanks everyone. I actually slept A LOT better than I thought I would! I was scared to death to go to sleep because I knew I would have a bad dream about it. My mom is a nurse so she gave me some sleeping pills to help me sleep better.

Even after I was still nervous so my boyfriend stayed on the phone with me, until I fell asleep. He said I woke up one time around 3 and started like getting mad saying 'no! stop, be careful!'. But I don't remember.. Other than that I guess, I slept pretty good.

But again, thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

I truly believe God was watching over them and they're alive for a reason<3
