Rapid Refill mugs can't be used for hot drinks?

I was just told by someone in a FB group that a CM told her that the Rapid Refill mugs cannot be used for hot drinks and that the heat can destroy the RFID chip. I have not heard this before and am wondering if anyone else has been told this or if this has happened to anyone when using the mug for hot drinks? We always get our coffee in the mugs in the morning, but haven't been since last year so this coming trip will be our first experience using the RFID mugs. Hope this is in the right forum. Thank you!

We had the new mugs last September and got coffee multiple times every day and never had a problem.

My kids constantly were getting hot chocolate with their mugs and we never had a problem with them

I have read that they can't be microwaved to heat up the contents. Is it possible that is what they are confused with?

Thanks for the response! I was thinking that it could not be true, the cm must have been misinformed or maybe it was a misunderstanding. Thanks again!

I just read the side of one and it says "do not microwave contents" 😀

Hot things can go in them, just not around them--in extreme situations haha.
