Is anyone waiting to hear from who wants to be a millionaire today or in the next few days to see if they have been picked?

For those of you who might not know Millionaire was having a phone in contest the past 10 days to qualify to be a contestant. You have to answer 5 questions correctly to qualify. Once you qualified, you had to pick a taping show date which I picked July 29th because my dd starts school Aug.3. I later find out (from the online rules) that I picked a bad taping date because only 5 contestants are being picked for that day and only one show is being taped and on the other days of taping 10 contestant are being picked and 2 shows are being taped. If I would have known that I would have picked the 30th. Oh well.

So now I'm glued to the phone today waiting for the call. Fingers crossed!

Did you one else qualify?

I did! Its going to be a long day waiting too...I've told everyone NOT to call me until after 6pm. I am hoping they will call, but the recording did say that persons will be chosen at random.

I chose July 30th for my taping. I've been freaking out about who will be my phone-a-friend!

I've been watching both Millionaire and Jeopardy as prep. I realized there's a lot out there I DON'T know.

Good luck to you both!! I did that when they were at WDW! I went through the screening and was in the audience, but they didn't get to me. I thought it was a hoot watching them tape. Meredith was a hoot!!! It was a very long day though!!! I did make it to the hot seat in the DHS attraction though!

Maybe we will see you both on there!!

I'm going to be on the show. They'll send a car service to pick me and a guest up the night before, put us up for two nights and take us back home. I have a lot of releases to sign but its all a go from here!

What did it come up on your caller id?

I know you were worried about your phone-a-friend list. Maybe people from the disboard could help you out. A doctor, lawyer, writer, etc.

Thanks so much! The person I was talking to did say she was still calling people.

I'm taping the 30th. There's a lot of calling each other back and forth right now.

I'm most concerned with sports and history, especially European history. I've made some calls to people to be phone-a-friend, but no one's gotten back to me yet!

I've been speaking with my producer for most of the afternoon. I've set up my guest on the show, and have gotten two out of three phone-a-friend.

I've received extensive paperwork that they want done by Monday. I have a ten page questionnaire about myself that I've been struggling with for hours.

Since I live within driving distance of NYC, a car will be sent for me the day before the taping and my guest and I will be put up in a hotel for two nights. We will receive a stipend of $50/day and the car service will drive us back home.

This is all very stressful! But exciting!
