need ideas for special cake/dessert??

Okay, need alittle help, please.
I posted this over on restaurants but no one seems to have any ideas. Figured my fellow DVC ers have never let me down yet so....

I'm going to be bringing my two cousins to AKL (one of my home resorts) for a 4 day trip for their first time at a DVC resort in November. It's just us girls, no husbands or kids
I want to make it as special as I can since one of these cousins is fast becoming my "travel" buddy and has arranged for a couple of outstanding vacations....now it's my turn.

I'm already thinking a special tour, a night at Cirque Du Soleil, a night at Yachtsman Steakhouse and Jellyrolls on the BWV.

I'd like to have a special dessert or small cake or something made, and if possible delivered to our room (do they deliver to an AKV DVC room??) , or Jiko's on our first night. I already saw the tuxedo strawberries, but that's not something I'd like, so I need ideas. I'm thinking just something small but disney or animal (animal kingdom) related, just for an added special touch.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I'm not sure if this is any help, but if you look right now at the last post on the cake thread (sorry I am not clever enough on the computer to post the link!!) then someone had a plate of mini chocolates/desserts (inc zebra domes and a chocolate elephant) delivered to their table at AK - that looked really nice and great for the themeing - not sure if you can order it as I think they were given it because of a problem with their cake request, but it might give you some ideas??

hope that helps a little!!

On the Disney World website, there is a tab for making your celebrations special. They have many things (gift baskets, flowers, romantic packages, etc.) that can be delivered to your room. I think celebration cakes may also be included. You may want to check this out if you haven't already done so!

Give Disney a call on the Cake Hotline -- 407-827-2253. See what they can do for you.

Order a cake when you dine at Yachtsman - the BC/YC bakery is one of the best on property.

If you have a car, run over to Publix and get one of these:

Waaay better than those Disney bakery cakes. We got a $50 cake for our son's birthday at the GF (shaped like Mickey's head) and it was dry and nasty. We have gotten two of these from Publix and they were wonderful.

Yellowstone was amazing and is a lot more inviting than Disney right now. Could we be selling it all in the near future? Maybe.

I called the Disney Cake Hotline and had a beautiful cake delivered last August for my dd 16th birthday.

They had a nice set up on the table when we arrived. We did not have a car so we could not go to Publix. The delivery of the cake to the room (while we were gone) and the set-up was a nice touch.
