Making PS reservations

I have just relised I can now make any PS for my trip i want to

We (my boyfriend & I) will be in Anaheim for the first time from September 1st - 7th and plan on being in the parks thursday 3rd, friday 4th & sunday 6th. On the thursday I wanted to have breakfast at Carnation cafe at around 9.30am just wondering if its usually busy around then and should i deffiently make a PS or will i be ok just turning up and not having to wait long for a seat?

The same for the Rainforest cafe, we also want to have lunch there on the 4th (thursday) at either around 1-1.30pm after we have spent the morning in DL or around 4pm before we return to DL, is it usually busy around either of those times?

its always just wise to make them and not take chances. I would hate to not get in because I did not make reservations. this way you know your going to be seated faster

Two of the longest waits to be seated I have encountered anywhere in DLR were for Carnation Cafe and Rainforest Cafe. The problem with Carnation is that not only is it a very popular place to eat but there is very limited seating available. So the tables fill up fast and the line of people waiting their turn to be seated gets long fast - any time of the day. Rainforest Cafe, on the other hand, has lots of seating (uncluding the upper levels), but that is an extremely popular location for that restaurant, which seems to thrive in its DTD surroundings. Breakfast at RFC has very few people and I think that is the best time to eat there if you really want to soak in the atmosphere, but lunch and especially dinner can be CRAZY crowded, with waits up to an hour to be seated.

I would recommend a PS for both of those! Another super busy place to eat is ESPN Zone (we waited about 45 minutes for a table last year). Blue Bayou is the only place that actually requires a PS in advance, but things like these restaurants and character meals can be tricky to get right into if you just walk up.
