Bride and Groom Mickey Hats

I am sure there is a thread about these hats but I can't find it. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can still buy the original bride and groom hat (not the new ears) in the parks. You can get them on ebay for about $50 but then I would have to carry them on the plane with all of the other bags I'll be hauling.

So... can they still be bought, where, and how much? Thanks

When I was in the parks for Spring Break, I saw a little girl running around in the bridal headband, so yes, they are still available as far as I know. I think they are like... $18? I could be wrong on the price though.

I think they're 18 a piece too.

I was in the parks early June and I saw A LOT of the bride ears. The weird thing is that sometimes they were mixed in with the children's head gear stuff (at least at the Contemp gift shop!)

I got mine through disney floral and they came with champagne and cheese and chocolates. It was set on our bed the night of the wedding...that way was able to guarantee I would have the headband and top hat!

We were in WOD in DTD in early June and they still had them. The groom top hat was harder to find. Most of the resort gift shops had the new version.

The Emporium at MK had Bride headbands and the top hats for men. I also saw them in the big shop in Epcot.

Do you ladies think it's smart to purchase them now since the new styles are coming in? We're not getting married until Oct. 2010, and will be down in Jan '10 for the marathon. Should we wait until the wedding, the marathon, or just order them now. I'm not a big fan of the new styles.

The headband/top hat ears are not being discontinued. Disney continues to sell them along with the newer mouse ear hat style.

I would hang on and maybe get them when you visit in January.

I bought mine last December. I only saw 3 grooms hats all week so I thought they were being discontinued so I bought them then. Since they didn't know if they'd be discontinued. DFi really wanted the top hat. He's now decided he needs a 2nd one to leave at home so it doesn't get damaged. I think they are now just offering a 2nd option for those that don't like the top hat and headband.

I wouldn't wait to buy them at a later time. Buy them when you see them and they are available, you can always store them away somewhere until you need them. I always say that is the best way to make sure you will have them when you want them. YOu might be sorry if you wait and not be able to get them.

I recently purchased the newer style from disney's website, and I'll be honest they're terrible. Sure, it was cute that I could get the back of them personalized, but the hat really does not fit my head and it definitely does not fit his. I can't imagine how uncomfortable wearing it for the week we're down there would be. They're not made to fit adult heads at all, and they stay secured with an elastic chin strap.

I searched the internet for the old style headband for myself, and found it cheapest at laughingplacestore.com. If you have time to spare looking for it, especially if you're really worried that they will discontinue them, look at the site a couple of times during the week. I was able to catch a promo for 25% off I think, and looking at their site now they have a promo for 10% off. Obviously, shopping around is a must though because I've come across some sites that have them for over $50!

Laughing Place charges a premium for WDW Merchandise; Calling WDW Merchandising directly and having them ship it to you is typically the least expensive option if you are not going to be local to purchase the set. All Ears keeps up with their contact information http://allears.net/tp/mailorder.htm

I know, but once I added in the shipping from the mail order it was best to do it the other way. Like I said, shopping around is a must!
