Booking with Disney UK or USA - The DIS Discussion Forums

For those of you that make all the travel arrangements yourselves do you book packages with Disney UK or Disney USA or is there much of a difference?

I'm in Ireland and we used a travel agent last time we went and I'm wondering if there are savings to be made booking it all yourself?

Is it a simple process to book with Disney,is it easy to get what you want,can it all be done online ???

All help gratefully received.

Welcome to DISboards mum.

You need to look at all options to find which is best for you. Personally I prefer to book all myself, I like being in control and find DIY holidays a lot more flexible. Also saved a fortune over the years.
For others they like to do a package, don't want to spend the time searching or are impatient and want it booked now.
I don't rule out packages, did one last Xmas, it was cheaper than flight only.
Our next trip in August I estimate we saved approx 50%, booked mispriced Buisiness class flights(£465pp) got free DDP at OKW, good discounts on cruise, and last 2 nights at DTD hotel for £25/night.
If you want to book with Disney then just now Disney.co.uk have the better deals for most people but thats beacause of the free DDP offer, if you go when thats not on(is it April you want to go? not on then) then Disney.com could be cheaper now the £ is getting a little stronger. Either site you can book online withing a few minutes.

Ask anythything else you want to know.

HI there welcome to the Dis from a fellow Irish Dis'er
Check out both sites and book the cheapest
Keep an eye out on the aer lingus web site and if your dates are felxiable you can get some good deals and with aer lingus it is a direct flight which saves you time too
I booked with the USA travel agent on this site to dreames unlimiled , if deals come out they will change your booking and can save you more money
any question just ask

Just compared 9 nights in September in Saratoga Springs Resort 2 adults a child and an infant, dining and park tickets.
UK Disney £1456
USA Disney £2600 (@£1=$1.55)

so definitely check both

When we booked OKW for this August last year we paid £2,164 (16 nights Free DDP inc 21 day tix x3) on Disney.com it would have been £6,000 for the same package, this was before free dining was on .com, even when they announced free DDP it still worked out double on .com

we are booking the 2 bed villa and ultimate tickets through disney uk tomorrow, works out 4k for 2 ads 1 ch 1 inf with free dining plan and thats for halloween 2010

Thanks for that everyone, so like with most things its a case of shopping around everywhere to get the best deal. Thats part of the fun anyway .

Although if we are lucky enough to be able to sort it again for next year its looking as if Christmas is the only time we could go ,hubby's job is inflexible and its an important school year for some of the kids , so there are no deals or bargains to be had around then and I'm slightly concerned about the crowds but I think that I have learned from reading the boards that you can still have a great time no matter how busy it is.

Has anyone been over Christmas?

Must learn how to add the smilies to brighten up my posts.
