Looking best place in Poly
Hey,
I have three requirements to stay in good resort, but I'm wondering if someone can recommend the best place (building) to stay in at the Poly. These are the three things :- 1. Near the main building 2. Near the parking lot 3. Near a quiet pool I have 2 kids so a short walk to the main building is the most important. And for their benefits, if a pool is near by. Right now our request is in for Tokelau, but looking at maps it seems a bit far away from all our needs. So anyone has good place for us?? Thanks for the advice!

I requested Tokelau as well because I wanted a short walk to/ from the Transportation & Ticket Center.

I stayed in Samoa. I thought it was close to the main building. Our room faced the volcano pool, but I think the quiet pool was behind us. By the way, I never heard any noise coming from the pool unless I opened the sliding door. I don't think the parking lot was that close. Not sure, we parked the car and never used it again.

When we stay Poly we always stay in Tokelau. Close to the parking lot, right in front of the quiet pool and not a terribly far walk to the main building. We even got an end room one time which gave us a MK view without having to stay concierge. That was a great treat.

Aotearoa was close to GCH and volcano pool (but far enough no pool noise).

I agree ... our Sept./08 stay was in Tokelau and I loved it!
Room #3917 was perfect for us - quiet pool was right outside our patio door; Tangaroa Terrace (right outside the entrance to our side of the building) faced parking lot; close to Bus Stop; a very pleasant walk to TTC and for a quick trip to GCH we'd shortcut through Rarotonga. Perfect location for us! ![]()

Then the Room Assigner will understand what is important to you and assign you to a building that most closely meets your desires. If you request a specific building and that building is not available for your dates, they will not know WHY you wanted that building. This way they will., Good Luck

Don't let the map sway your choice, Tokelau is also a great location and not all that much farther to any of your requirement locations. Good luck with your decision! |

We stayed in Rarotonga in 12/07 and loved it. I know we were near the volcano pool, the parking lot and main building. We actually had "garden view" which was a view of the parking lot, but that was hard to see with all of the foliage and monorail track there. It was also a short walk to the TTC, which was fantastic.
![]() I requested Rarotonga or Samoa for our next stay.

My parents stayed in Rarotonga this past June and said it was perfect. Their room looked out over the quiet pool, they could watch Wishes from the balcony every night, and they were very close to the GCH.

Rarotonga!
The Poly is actually much less spread-out than it appears on maps, IMO, and I think any of the buildings mentioned would be great for your needs. But
I think Rarotonga holds the edge in BEST meeting ALL of your requests. We had members of our party with mobility issues on our last trip to the Poly and stated on our reservation "we are staying with seniors with mobility issues, please place us in a building close to GCH and the bus stop." (I was hoping for Rarotonga but afraid to request it specifically). We were assigned to Rarotonga and it couldn't have been more perfect! I would explain the desire to be centrally located AND request Rarotonga, Niue, or Tokelau, in that order. Of the three, Tokelau is furthest from the GCH, but closest to the TTC. When I say "furthest" and "closest" I'm really talking about the difference of maybe 2 or 3 minutes, depending on how fast you walk. I also have a feeling that Rarotonga and Niue are not frequently requested hidden gems, so you may have a great chance to get one of the two when you request them. |

We stayed in Samoa and thought it was VERY convenient to everything
.....the GCH, volcano pool on one side/quiet pool on the other, Captain Cooks, parking lot, & the beach . Have a great trip .

But as others have said, the resort is not as huge as it looks like on the drawings, so even if you're not in Rarotonga, the walk is not that long from any of them. Niue is a small building but also would work for your requests as would Samoa which is right next to Niue. So if I were you, I'd make the request in this order: Prefer Rarotonga, Niue, or Samoa. I'd expect you'll get one of them.
