Overlooked, Unknown and Unusual MUST DO's

Hi everyone, this September, we are taking my sisters on a surprise FIRST vacation to Disney World. Can everybody tell me their not so common must do's and secret spots? I am trying to come up with 20 things for each theme park. I want quirky things that maybe first timers wouldn't think of but that would make them experience the park in a different and more involved way. I have come up with a couple of things to give you an idea of what I am talking about...

1. try Beverly
2. Find the key in the Muppet vision queue

These are activities and little things that all of you pros notice. I have only been three times and so I need your input!!! What great ideas can you give me?

OMG - I LOVE this idea. I'm taking three first timers in September myself. They are clueless about what they are heading into. (Didn't know you could get character autographs - thought there was only two parks, etc.) I hope the DIS pros come thru. This is very exciting!

My brain is not working at the moment and I can't think of anything but hidden mickeys.....

So subbing to this!

One of our faves is to go into Town Square Exposition Hall in MK. It's just to the right when you come into the park. Go into the very back of the store. It's like an old movie theatre. They have large cut-outs from old movies that you can take pictures with...and best of all, it's FREE! My girls love going back in there. I'll have to sit and ponder for more ideas!

Something that we did for the first time on our trip in June was to put your image in your own video game at Innoventions. We had a blast doing the movements and then playing the game. You can then e-mail your video game to yourself and play it when you get back home.

Good tip luna! I hear the seven dwarves actually hang out in exposition hall a lot. Great op for a character interaction without the huge crowds!

Pirate, that sounds like a lot of fun making your own video game. I can't believe how quick you all are! Keep 'em comin' guys!

Nobody warned DW and I about Beverly before we went!

If you look closely in Tinker Bell's Fairy Treasures you will notice Tinker Bell flying around the store. You can duck down and take a peek inside the keyhole of the treasure chest on the floor to see where she ends up.

We didn't know about Devine in AK until our 3rd trip to WDW. She is a must see that a lot of people don't know about.

You can't look in the drawer any more, but if you ask a CM at the counter, Tink has a new way of making an appearance in the store.

Also, in this same store, behind the other counter, Aurora's dress is hanging. Sometimes its pink, sometimes its blue. Every once in a while the two fairies will have a fight and go back and forth more quickly. Totally cute.

I also like watching the glass blower/sculptor in one of the shops in MK on Main St.

Try and find Push, the talking garbage can.

Somewhere else is an umbrella that lets out rain? Someone?

And something about a drinking fountain? Anyone?

One of the coolest ideas I got from the disboards is to take a picture at Epcot with the geo dome in the background as if you are holding it in your hand. I think this would be great for first timers to do and would make a great souvenier too! At MK, make sure to visit the "spitting camels" in front of Aladins Magic Carpet. You didn't mention if your newbies are kids or adults. But if they are kids, bring your own autograph books so they can get autographs right as they enter the park. Also, I recommend boarding the train at the main gate, and taking a train tour of MK first, that way they get a sneek peak at all the rides and attractions. We did this as kids and I still love traveling the world before picking a "land' to visit. Have fun!

I *think* the umbrella is in Hollywood Studios...somewhere near the muppet attraction??? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I remember seeing it but can't remember exactly where.

Love, Love, Love Push!

I do hope someone answers about Beverly. I know I've heard it, but cn't remember what it is now.

As far as photos, some of the photo pass CM's will do "magical" photos when they take your picture. We had one done in Epcot...when we viewed our picture on line, Stitch was sitting in the middle of our family! We've also had one done where one of my DD was "holding" tink. I think you have to ask the CM if they do the magical pictures.

Beverly is a disgusting tasting pop at Club Cool in Epcot. It's from Italy.
