The better Late than never/Theres too much food Trip report September 2008 Part 2

Well after a few hours sleep, we were up really early and eager to start the
1st day of our holiday.
Our room had a Savanah view and was the first room just off the lobby, room 3407 handy for the desks, shop and food we thought it might be too noisy but is was very quiet.

First things first breakfast, we decided to go to Bomas, the food was excellent and as much as you would eat for $16 each, a great start to the day. As we were still quite tired we decided to go to DTD for the morning we decided not to go to the parks at all today just chill. After our usual visit to Ghiradelli a Cable Car for Michael (Rocky Road , choc chip and choc ice cream a creamy marshmallow topping ,hot fudge, whipped cream ,topped with almonds a cherry and a Ghiradelli milk chocolate square on top) not many calories there then. and of course a Hot Fudge Sundae for me We just wandered around the shops after this bought a phone for $13 and a phone card $20 at the Virgin Megastore.


When we came back from DTD we went to the Mara food court for our refillable mugs.


That night we had a reservation for our dinner at Jiko. We had heard so many good things about this restaurant. We both had soup for starters and Scallops for our main course and I can honestly say it was so dissapointing and we would never eat there again,it was dreadful we wished we had gone to Boma even though it was very noisy it would have been much better. Never mind better things to come, tomorrow we are off on our 3 day cruise on the Disney Wonder

Shame you didn't enjoy jiko, sounds like a good day though

Thanks for posting - shame about your meal at Jiko but the Ghiradelli ice cream sounds amazing
