I'm soooo excited!! UPDATE

We were all set for Disney. Two rooms at POP forSept 10th-19th for myself, husband, son, daughter, son-in law and 2 grandsons. We had free dining. The airfare was paid and we were ready to make our final payment. We never stayed on site before. We always rented a house close by. then out of the blue my husband decides he wants to upgrade us all to a moderate. so the search began online. We checked out the comments here on this forum as well as on Passporters. We decided on POFQ. Called and found out there was no Free dining rooms available in any moderate. Bummer. I guess we should have checked before we all got our hopes up. No thtat we were upset with staying at POP, it's we had our hope up. My daughter paid hers and we paid ours and guess what? when the confirmation email came we found out My Husband went ahead and paid out-od-pocket for the dining package and upgraded us all anyway as a surprise . Now were doing the paid in full dance!! disney is all we talk about and we still have 2 months yet!!

We called back today and (free dining) rooms were available. We are still staying at POFQ but with free dining.....WooHoo

That was so very nice of him. We are going in October because we ended up with a pin code this week in the mail. We are staying at CBR which we have never tries so I'm excited. Dh would love to stay at CSR again but I wanted to at least try CBR. But we haven't told my almost 4 year old yet. We are just going to pack the week before in our walk in closet. And tell her that morning where we are going. I can't wait but dh said it would be better to do it this way. So she doesn't ask every day for the 3 months when we are leaving. Have a great trip we love POFQ I havve stayed there around 6 times it is beautiful and small.

My Grandsons are 7 and 8. We were there 4 years ago and it's amazing how little they remember. We have it marked on the calendar and they check it every day. A few weeks before we are going to let them do a Disney craft everyday. Things like suncatchers for the window and decorating the mousekeeping tip envelopes stuff like that to keep them in the loop.

Enjoy your trip!!! We stayed at the POP a few years ago and enjoyed it. In the lobby there are shadow boxes with items from the past. My DS's got a kick out of the "old" things. If you get a chance, take a walk around the resort and see some of the other themed areas. Don't forget to play a game of Twister.

Is that a big leap as far as the overall experience goes? I really don't know much about the All-Stars - Pop class rooms. Those resorts do not have a full sit down restaurant, right? Are there much differences in the actual rooms?

The POFQ area is nice but I can't stand Boatwrights. It was easily the worst dining experience I have ever had at Disney. The food was meh and it was so loud.

Comparing the two resorts and listening to friends who have stayed at both, I feel more like we are staying at a resort instead of a glorified motel. Our friends loved POFQ over POP. they said POP was much noisier and had the motel feel to it. POFQ was quieter and the landscaping gave it a much more relaxed feel to it.

I just checked online and there are free dining rooms available at POFQ for your dates. I would call back and check with Disney. Rooms open up all the time from ppl cancelling. It would save A LOT of $$$

Congrats on your resort choice, it is wonderful and we have always enjoyed every aspect of the resort including the food court. The boat rides to DTD are always nice as well. If you can get the change made, go for it, if not enjoy the experience!

We have stayed at or at least toured every moderate and up resort. Are the cheaper ones worth visiting? Do they have really neat lobbies and whatnot?

If you have the time there are things to see at Pop and the Music resort. But only if you have the extra time.

Not to burst your bubble about your trip to POFQ, but in the long run you may be disappointed paying for the dining plan when most everyone else is there for free. Please keep checking to get the free dining. The crowds are generally higher because of the free dining so if service is down a bit it does not matter if one is getting it for free, but if you are paying you may have higher expecations.

Also consider POFQ plus pay for free dining may equal Deluxe Resort w/ Free dining.

Check all your options.

That is great - now you can be even more excited than you were before. Your family must be bouncing off the walls!

I don't get it; if Disney isn't running a general public special (free dining through Oct 3 for instance) how would you get a room at any resort w/free dining?

Congrats!! Last year we visited POFQ (we were on the hunt for pins) and the CMs couldn't have been nicer. Enjoy!
