Bell Services will move your luggage and food for you when you change resorts. You can then take the bus to DHS and the boat to BWV.

FWIW.... We take lots of cabs for dinner and such around WDW and it always seems to cost about $10.

it was $16 (with tip) from the poly to the BW. You have to go around the MK parking lot which takes a lot of time.

We will be doing split stays from the BLT to the BW every trip now. We plan just to go to Epcot on the day of the switch. Take the monorail over and tour Epcot and then just exit thru the international gateway around 4-5 and check in.

Or you could take the bus to DHS and either walk (15 minute walk) -or take the boat (20 minute ride, unless you get off at the Swan/dol and walk to the BW.

Depends a little bit on drive time which includes red lights or slow traffic. It was stormy when we did it last and that route was $12 plus tip for us.

We have rarely used taxis at WDW because we rent cars. But the car rental costs are getting ridiculous. You can take a lot of $15 cab rides and order groceries and still save money over a car rental at current prices.

And there is the hassle factor. Even if I thought taxis would be slightly more I would still probably choose taxis over getting a car. If I know I am going to be using it a lot that is one thing but for a few trips a taxi is the way to go.

Yup... It's taxi cabs for us.
We enjoy drinks with dinner, so we always cab to and from dinner. This coming trip, with the high price of rental cars, we are cabbing it for everything including the parks. I just don't think I have the patience to wait for the bus, then the stroller folding, then the multiple resort stops....

I'd say "budget $20" - our cabs have usually run around $15 at Disney since the increase in fares. If you can get from VWL to BWV for just $10 you've gotten luck. I can't remember if that includes tip or not - which is part of the "budget $20" logic.

Also, carry some ones - cab drivers are notorious for deciding whatever bill you hand them includes the tip. Or better yet, pay with a credit card so the ride can be tracked.

We cab a LOT in Disney - we had our fill of rental cars years ago. But we do also take the bus when we have the time and patience.

What About Taxi Prices for Groceries?

Since this September's and December's trips will be my first time flying on an airplane since I was twelve years old, we will not be driving down and will not have a car. We like to buy some groceries for the room when we arrive. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for how much a round trip taxi trip would be to the nearest Publix or the Premium Outlet Mall?

Thank you!

For groceries, I'd use a delivery service. It will be MUCH cheaper than a taxi. Or, if you don't have much to buy - use the stores at Disney - convenience store prices and selection - but convenient. Garden Grocer and Wegoshop are the two most often mentioned here.

I only have a vague idea that the outlet mall is less than halfway between WDW and the airport. The airport is a $45 cab ride one way.
