Lap Swimming at DL Hotels?
My son is a competitive swimmer so it is hard for us to get away until his team is on break in August. We usually go to DL in August but this year it wasn't going to work. So, I planned a quick trip July 11-15. He has 3 big meets coming up and these were the only days that were going to work. Long story short, his coach wants him swimming each day...nothing intense but he wants him in the water for a couple 30 minute short swims morning and evening.
I had a reservation at Paradise Pier but then found a great rate at the Fairfield Inn. The Fairfield was going to save me $400 over PP. I was planning to cancel the PP today. But, I looked at the pools and while the Fairfields looks as big as PP, it doesn't open until 8am each day. While PP is open at 6am. I figure if he is out there early, he won't interfere with all the kids that will hit the pools later. I can't really remember that pool though. Has anyone swam there recently? I know is it on the small side but is it big enough to do some laps? How about the Fairfield? Same question. I'm also wondering if it is locked or if we might be able to get in and use it early am before it "officially" opens. Any input would be helpful. I did call each hotel but they weren't very helpful. thanks kc |

While at PPH last month, I met a woman on her way to work out. She was first stopping off at the pool to say hi to her husband, who was out bright and early to do his laps before anyone else was in the pool. So it's been done before there.

Hi KC
I was just fooling around on google earth and found that on the corner of Sth Harbour and Disney Way there appears to be a 25yard laned lap pool - I'm sorry i have no idea what hotel it is , but if you find out it may be worth checking in with them |

Molly & Rossip -
Thanks for the input! I think that is the Anaheim Plaza. The pool looks nice! We're within the 5 day cancellation at Paradise Pier now so I guess we'll stick with it. Hopefully we'll be at the pool bright and early...if anyone else is staying at PP and wants to join us for some laps!!! We'll be there Saturday through Wednesday. Thanks! KC |
