The park that you shot your pics from, was it that one with the chain-swing benching hanging from the edge of the pavilion? My wife and I stopped by there just this past weekend, and we're thinking, "I bet the fireworks look great from here!"

Thats the one!! The name of it is Negley Park and its also a beautiful view over looking the river, City Island and Harrisburg in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. I actually got there about 2 1/2 hours early to get a good spot and there was a band set up in the pavilion to entertain the people sitting and waiting for the fireworks. Its a popular spot and you have to get there early if you want a spot to take pictures. The edge of the hill below the pavilion looked like a press box with all the cameras and tripods set up. This little guy had no problems passing the time:

This thread is awesome! Great shots all. I finally have a few to share that seem to apply- from the Park Avenue Area Summer Sidewalk Sale and Street Party yesterday in Winter Park.

The girls had fun in the misters.

nice photos all. i feel bad i said i wanted to do this and haven't shot anything yet in july but i get my new lens tomorrow and my fixed lens friday so i'll have something to shoot with by august

There are truly superb images that have been posted on this thread. I am continually impressed by the talent on this board.

I am posting two late day summer evenings from very different areas of the country that I took this past month.

Here is one overlooking NYC

Utah was stunningly beautiful. I had never been there and I am so glad that we were able to take trip there to experience it.
