Six Flags over GA - coke discount?

Can someone who lives near this park tell me if the Coke cans are still circulating that offer B1G1 Free admission during weekdays?

In addition to this question, while searching the internet for discounts, I'm reading a lot of comments about this park being run down, with overrun with trouble-makers. If you have been lately, would you agree?

We are visiting the Atlanta area week after next for a basketball tournament and are looking for something budget related to do.

Thanks so much for your help!
Carolyn

I have not seen any buy one get one for sixflags. in fact yesterday i went looking for white water discounts and i did find some good ones at mcdonalds. The only thing we found for sixflags was the 29.99 entry fee.

hope that helps some.

I haven't seen any Coke cans with the discounts that they usually run. I do know that I have heard a ton of radio commercials for Six Flags lately, and the new promotion is "Everyone Pays Kids Price".

As far as the park being run down or there being trouble makers...It's hard for me to comment on that since it's been so long since we've been. There hasn't been much about the park in the news lately, so that may be a good thing. To be honest, I've always been somewhat cautious in that park, which is a good idea no matter where you are!

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

We live south of Atlanta and haven't seen the Coke cans, but I was there in MAy with a band group and the park seemed in pretty good shape. I highly recommend paying for the express pass option, it's a bit pricey but it allowed my older DD to ride a lot more sruff with her friends (younger DDs friend couldn't pay for one and I didn't feel comfortable shelling out the $$$for her.

I would be VERY careful of this park. I have not been for several years and even then we always went on Sunday mornings. There is a lot of gang activity there and metal detectors had to be installed. True, there hasn't been anything in the news lately, but I only live about 20-30 minutes away and no one around here goes near the place! Things that went on before were down right scary. There is so much to do in Atlanta. Stone Mountain is a good place to go. The Olympic park downtown is free and can be lots of fun. There is also the world of Coke. There are many options that may cost more, but you might want to check out the prices. The Aquarium and the Fernbank museum come to mind. Also the Braves might be in town during your visit. If you go to 6 Flags, just use caution. It is not in a very good area of Atlanta. Hope you have a fun trip!

I lived in Atlanta for 7 years, of which I was a season pass holder for Six Flags for 4 or 5 years. The last year was in 2003, when there was still some trouble going on. I still kept a season pass, and was just careful, because I love roller coasters! It is definitely worth going, but be careful just like you would in any other part of Atlanta, or any other large city for that matter. The main thing is to be smart. I will say that one time I was on the bus on the way home from Six Flags, and someone opened my backpack (which was on my back) and pulled out a bunch of stuff, trying to find stuff to steal. They did take my check book (I don't know why I had it in there to begin with), which was turned in a few days later at a local Wachovia branch. I had put a stop payment on them of course though.
Out of the 25 or so times I went, this was the only time anything bad happened. There are teenagers there who act rambunctious, because after all it IS Six Flags. Teenagers hang out there, it's a popular place to go in the summer. The majority of their staff during the summer are high school students. I would definitely still go if I went back to Atlanta to visit, and wouldn't hesitate to take my DS once he was old enough to ride the big rides.

We've had season passes there for probably 5 or 6 years. Yes, there are alot of unruly, unchaperoned teens, but we have never had a serious problem. I would never let my children go by themselves, but feel very comfortable taking them to Six Flags by myself. In my opinion, the workers there did a complete 180 last year in regards to customer service. The workers are very pleasant and helpful now. My DS, 13, is a roller coaster enthusiast, so we go every year so that he can ride the big rides, which are very good. It does get VERY crowded in July. We never go to Six Flags in July, it just isn't worth it, there are too many people there.

we have had season passes for the last 8 or 9 years. It has gotten better in the last few years. 6flags is really trying hard to clean it up. I was getting pretty run down. I have noticed the employees being polite and helpful. As far as being safe, it's not any less safe than going to the mall it's not like its downtown. I go alot and feel fine letting my boys 14 and 11 off together.
