Lingo VoIP - anyone heard of or used?
So now that we have DD we want to get a home phone in case of emergency. Our apartment doesn't have working phone jacks, and I don't want to pay to have them installed, so we're looking into options for digital phone through our cable internet. I was searching around online last night and came across a company called Lingo. I've never heard of them but it sounds easy to use (they send you an adapter that you plug your cable modem, computer/router, & phone into) and they have a plan that will work for us that is only $5/month for the first 3 months and $8/month after that. So it sounds like a great deal, I'm just leary of trying a service I've never heard of.
Also, how does the call quality on VoIP compare to a normal phone? Is it the same as the digital phone service offered by the cable company? I'm not very familiar with all of this so I'm not sure what difference there is, if any.
