1st time at the Poly

I just booked a weekend in October at the Poly and am super excited. This is a special treat as it is my birthday.... a big one

We only have a garden view, so can anyone recommend an area I should request for our room?

Also, any other "must-do" or "must-sees" at this resort. Remember we are only there 2 nights.

Thanks!

You are going to love the Poly . We had our first stay at the Poly in '07 and it was amazing . We stayed in Samoa, which we thought was very convenient to everything....the GCH, the volcano pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks . We loved relaxing in the hammocks on the beach while listening to the boat whistles as the boats went back and forth to the MK . We enjoyed just walking around the resort as we loved the tropical atmosphere and thought it was very peaceful.....especially at night with the lit tiki torches all around . One thing I would recommend would be to sit on the beach and watch the fireworks as well as the EWP . Have a great birthday trip .

Fiji. You can't go wrong with a garden view room from Fiji. It will either be of the marina or the beach leading to the GF.

Have a great trip!

Congratulations! And try not to look at it as "only" a garden view. I have stayed in all types of rooms at the Disney Deluxes and for me, the resort itself is the key to my stay The poly is awesome and you're going to have a GREAT time
We have stayed GV in raratonga, Rapa Nui, Tahiti and Niue. Niue is now my favorite! STEPS from the GCH and quiet pool. Very convenient to everything. It's a small building with only 2 floors. 2d floor has no balcony. 1st floor has great patios with lawn in front (most rooms, anyway). Quick walk to both pools Have fun!

Sunrise is beautiful! Took tons of pictures and it's so peaceful. Watching, and listening, to "the World" wake up is a wonderful start to the day. THEN ... go over to Kona and have some of the most delicious pancakes in the world! MACADAMIA PINEAPPLE PANCAKES are to die for!

I totally understand your excitement! We are staying at the Poly for the first time this September. This website was very helpful, in addition to the Poly thread here of course:

http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/qui...-is-everything

We booked GV too and put in a req for Tokelau, it seems to be smack in the middle of everything and some of their GV rooms also apparently have a view of the castle.

Thanks for this link! We're planning our first Poly stay for June of next year. I've pored over the Poly threads here, but haven't seen the Tiki Man page. That will be a nice addition to my research!
