Question family of five 2nd trip

Hi...we are a family of five. our 1st trip to DLRP was sept 2008 staying at the explorers ( 4 nights ). we loved every second and are looking at booking another trip for sept his year. Can anyone tell us though, which hotels cater for 5 people other than the explorers ?

There are family rooms for 5 at Newport bay but they tend to be very expensive and are not included in any special offers.

Explorers is the best option really unless you are driving and then you could consider DCR

thanks for the advice. we're going on the euostar again, so HDC would be out. we really liked explorers and the journey to and from the parks was fine ( apart from been crushed on the shuttles ). last year we went during the last week of sept and found the park fairly quiet ie we didn't have to queue too long for rides ( ideal for the kids ). would early / mid sept be much busier ?

Hi, we have the same with having 3 kids.

We were lucky and managed to get a good deal with 40% discount, and booked 2 rooms at HNY on site.

We did consider explorers, and if DH hadn't insisted on being on site, then I would have booked it. It looks really nice.

this is the only issue that we have with dlrp....max of 4 people for most rooms, in most hotels. don't get me wrong, the explorers is a fantastic place to stay and we had a great time, it would be nice to have some choice. quite concerned about staggered times for attractions

Hi minnie_x ~ welcome to the DLP DISboard.

We're a friendly lot on here, so please join in on any thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each.

If you have not had a look yet, the DLP DISboard posting rules are here and the DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

There's also the Hotel l'Elysee and Adagio City Aparthotel at Val d'Europe, they sleep up to 6 and 7 respectively. There is a free shuttle bus to the parks but most people who stay there say it's easier to pay to take the RER to the parks, it's only one stop. You'll also get EMH with the Hotel l'Elysee.

We have 3 kids too. We had 2 interconnecting rooms at Santa Fe (loads of room) and 1 room at DLH - youngest was under 2 so didn't count towards occupancy.

we've been checking before booking this years trip. it's cheaper for us to get two interconnecting rooms at santa fe than it is staying at the explorers. we're going to be around £135 better off doing it this way + having the characters at breakfast time. result

Great result.

We're a family of 5 and always found it cheaper to stay at the Explorers (booking through either Expedia or Benotel) and buy APs until the exchange rate nosedived and we ended up paying an extra €30 a night last summer ~ as we were staying 9 nights it was rather painful!

Luckily we had secured a very good rate so it still worked out much cheaper to stay there than 2 rooms at Santa Fe but I'll be looking at all options again next time we visit.
