Sounds like an exciting day Steph

Donna~ 's for you and Kaitlyn. I'm sure it was a tough day. Glad to hear you enjoyed the water park!!

We had another busy day but at least I wasn't the host. Domenic swam a bit at my aunt and uncle's even though it was NOT that nice out We got home around 7 and got them to bed and now I'm off to sort through the rest of their presents and put them away.

Here are some pictures from the weekend...

good morning all

steph, a wet room usually means that there is not a seperate shower stall, basically the whole room is the shower cubicle. There are lots of different types, some still have a curtain or glass seperating the shoer from the rest of the room, some don't.

Good Morning

It's the last week of school!!!

It's Spirit Week at school and today is Hat Day...... I'll be wearing the Homeland Security Hat that one of my students gave me (his dad works for Homeland Security in DC)

It's also Movie Monday in my class..... the kids earned a movie and popcorn. This morning's feature is Toy Story 2 I had brought in some choices and let them vote. While they're watching the movie I can hopefully get some more packing done.

Packing an entire class really sucks! The trash can is getting a good work out

happy monday!

I thought I checked in here this morning but I guess not....

Hope that AJ did well at try outs today. How did they go Steph?

Interesting concept, Cami. I always like seeing things from other parts of the world

Dyan~How was the weekend? I think I saw that you've got some stuff on FB but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Denise. I loved the pics on FB. He's so adorable! I hope you had a great vacation!!

Domenic's class field trip was today....outside.....in the rain. It seemed like it was going to be a total washout but after about an hour and a half it stopped and we got to enjoy it more. It was at a local farm where they had hayrides, petting zoo, playgrounds and a water spray and play area. Of course even in 60 degree weather and having been wet from the rain the kids still changed into their suits and went in They had a great time though, and so did we once we dried out!

Learned about R's claim from Saturday night while I was at the play.

We had a freak storm here, I was an hour and half away where the weather was "normal"

M finally told me the full story, I was on the cross valley and think I nearly fainted.
Yes the water picked her up and took her to the embankment. She called me, I didn't answer. (get that mother of the year award shined up Folks)
She called M at work and was in pure hysteria, he knew something was up and started running out of the building (work) yelling where are you, whats wrong.
She got out "the car is filling with water". M thought what I would have thought, she drove into the river! (my worst nightmare)
He was in his truck screaming where are you, she said Main Road, coming from work. Huge sigh, not in the river! He told her to get out if it got to her knees, get on the roof and he would call her back. He phoned 911 and couldnt get her to answer again. Poor M
At this time an off duty officer pulled over and told the girls to roll the windows down and climb on the roof.
Thats when M arrived. M got out of his truck, R is screaming "Daddy help me"!
M started to run and the nice man that stopped to help nearly tackled M. Told him if you go in there that current is going to take you down and your daughter may see you killed.
With that all of the responders arrived. M said he will never forget this sight and how unreal it was to him. Its unreal for me to imagine it.
They were yelling to the girls to keep calm, and trying to keep M calm. They explained that as quickly as it came up, its going to go back down. They just needed to wait it out.
The water started to rescede and they told everyone another few minutes and the current and water would be low enough to safely go get them.
M was talking to one of them and said he saw another car pull up and stop out of the corner of his eys. Not unusual since MANY people stopped to watch this.
Than he hears half the responders yelling "WTH are you doing?!"
He turns to see A (Rs BFF) trudging through the muddy waters just below her knees. She stopped and yelled back "thats my best friend and I am getting her the hell out there!"
M said most started to laugh and said "well I guess its safe now"
So she got R and S off the roof and they locked arms and walked to higher grounds. (that made me cry)
At dinner tonight ( a dinner I had to go to ) we were all so full nobody wanted dessert so I asked if I can have a piece of blueberry pie to take home to my daughter, everyone else at the table then offered thiers as well, lol.
I came home, walked up to her and said why didn't you tell me it was that bad. Hugged her and started to cry, she did as well.
Shes safe, its over with but the full magnitude is hitting me. I am not going to approach this tonight, however she needs to grasp that there are times when you call 911 first, then us.
Professionals in water mitigation told me its not salvageable, so I called the ins company and expect them to total it. I don't even care, my little girl is safe!

OT, WDW responded to my email about Andy and the hidden Mickey, they wanted my phone number. R is super excited, M said "Uh, you know most NORMAl people would not be happy about a brain anneurism" Like he just met me

Its fine Steph, just trying to wrap my brain around it. Yesterday I said to M before he went to bed, we are not reporthing this, it just needs to dry out M just said, Ok Angel?
Than I walked out yesterday afternoon with R to look at it
Then this afternoon he told me all the details
Talk to you all later, past my bedtime and need to shut my mind off.

Sweet dreams!

Angel ~ Wow, that is so beyond scary. I am so glad they are safe.
** as for Andy, I think that it is neat that Disney is taking interest in it. Sure, it would be so much better if Andy was not there at all, but, well, I hope you get what I am trying to say.

Steph ~ How did it go for AJ?
