Phone # or Email to Complain!

I don't want to be a bummer, but I was wondering if anyone had a phone # or an email that I could use to contact Disney to complain about the hours fiasco. I am not going until early October, but if August and September are any indication, I will not have the park hours before I have to make ADR's. I think Disney is pretty full of themselves, if they expect thousands of people to spend thousands of dollars at their resort, then stiff them when it comes to planning. I would like to give them my 2 cents. I know it probably won't make a difference, but every voice counts!

I am writing a letter and email too. I think that more people need to do this so they wake up and solve the problem.

I have the same problem. I can call on 7/2 and expect to have to make ADR's blindly and hope for the best. Try to change things if my guesses are way off or just park hop if I can't change any.

I also emailed them yesterday.

Here is the email I sent.

By the way, the email is wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

To Whom it May Concern,

I am extremely confused by the way that Disney has chosen to go about posting its park hours for the last 2 months (August and September). The hours are not being posted prior to the 90 day mark for making Advanced Dining Reservations at the beginning of each month. I find this to be extremely rude on Disney's part. My trip is not coming up until early October, but I fear I will see the same trend. There are many people who are spending ALOT of money to vacation at your resort. In many cases, this is a once in a lifetime trip. Without park hours, it is virtually impossible to make dining reservations, unless you have hopper passes. My family is not interested in paying an additional $50 per person just so we can go to a different park to eat dinner.

I understand that the economy is poor, and that you are trying to compensate for it. What I see is that you are cutting things that are really affecting the guests - posting of hours in a timely fashion, shortening days, etc. I don't see anywhere that prices are coming down to compensate for this.

I think it is the responsibility of Disney management to make sure that they release park hours at least 1 day prior to the opening of the window for making dining reservations. This is the only fair thing. Based on what I am reading on many different web sites, there are a lot of loyal Disney fans who are very upset with this recent behavior. I work in an industry that has been hard hit by the recent financial mess, but we are doing everything in our power to keep our customers happy. I would hope that Disney would to the same.

I would appreciate a response to this email

That is a very well worded letter. I'm going in the beginning of October as well, and I'll send along an email with the same sentiment. Maybe they'll get the point and help us out. We're not asking for 6 months in advance, after all, just enough time to plan ADR's which is out of control as it is!

Last year I made my ADRs 180 days out on around Feb 20th for a trip in August and they already had the hours including EMH posted all the way up to September as some of my ADRs were for September.

I just made my ADRs for this year on May 31st for Aug 29th - Sep 6th and the last 6 days were completely blind. At least I knew there was a MNSSHP on Sept 4th so I didn't book Crystal Palace for that night. Of course, the only reason I knew about that is Disney is happy to sell you tickets 6 months in advance for hard ticket events. Not so much effort in releasing hours though.

Luckily we always get park hopper passes and are there for 9 days so we are fairly flexible in our scheduling.

Yes, they used to post the hours 6 months out. It was still an issue if your trip was at the beginning of a month though and waiting for the hours to be posted to make ADR's.

Not to sound stupid

I am looking at the hours and was just wondering what is everyones major compliants about them are they closing to early or not enough EMH? Many people have said that we have to watch the aprk hours becuase they change all the time but I was just wondering what is the major complaint about them? I read your letter and I talked to a senior CM about the fiasco with August hours and she said that they want to ensure accuaracy of the hours and that it may took longer but they would posted in the first week I understand about making ADR's but I am not going to disney to eat I am going to enjoy the parks and being with my family. My vacation is not based on what we eat... Now I know that I will get flamed for my opionion but thats my own thoughts....... I do understand that people have favorite places to eat but if you dont get your ADRS are you going to cancell your trip?

I agree Tink. I totally understand everyone wanting the hours to be posted ahead of time for ADRs...especially those who are not using park hoppers. Personally, our family always uses the hoppers because we like variety during our day. But I do understand it is more $$, and may not be worth it to everyone. That being said, we always plan our ADRs first...which is totally dependent on what times are availible for meals. Based on that, we plan our park days out. I know this strategy does not work for all, but worst case senario. I hope Disney responds to your email! Happy Planning!

One of the problems is the free dining. People want to eat at their favorite places and with the economy affecting so many people, they want to take full advantage of their money/time. Free dining = ADR nightmares. It's worse than trying to get Hannah Montana tickets at the height of her fame! I think most people go to the parks to enjoy family and Disney, but there are very definitely faults with the system and part of a lot of people's vacation IS the planning part. Crowd levels, EMH, Free Dining all play a part in what you can and cannot accomplish when you're there.

And yes, for some people it really IS about the dining. Disney has some amazing places to eat and if you're spending money, you may as well spend it on things you enjoy! For some, that's the food. See the food porn posts in the restaurant section.

The system has flaws, sure, but when all is said and done, people are generally ok with what they've gotten. I haven't run across people canceling their Disney trips due to hours not being out or missed ADR's. Probably just perceptions of such since we can all be a bunch of compulsive planners. But that's what makes us special!

No flames. You are allowed your opinion.

No flames here just an explanation. Although we don't go to Disney just to eat, after enjoying many trips to DW it is now a very important part of the experience for us (and I believe for many others). Certain restaurants are tradition for my family and just as much a part of the Disney trip as Splash Mountain. If we couldn't do these my family would be very disappointed. They all have certain requests and will ask each day we are there, "where are we eating tonight?" It's good family time too. Also, we are choosing to go during free dining. If the hours are not posted than we can't make good decisions about scheduling our ADR's. So then how can we best take advantage of free dining if we can't make our ADR's and then can't get into our favorite places? Some ADR's are so difficult to get these days that if you don't call right at 90+10 you won't get them. While I wouldn't want to cancel my trip, I did choose to go during this time to take advantage of this promotion. Disney should at least provide us with the tools to be able to best take advantage of this promotion. We are spending thousands of dollars at their resort and planning where we are going to eat 100 days in advance! The least they can do is give us the park hours before we need to make the ADR's.

I don't believe anyone would cancel their trip, but not having the park hours when making an ADR makes it a little difficult to plan which park to go to. If I make an ADR in ECPOT and then hours come out and I would rather go to MK that night, now I have to cancel my ADR. It becomes a problem with planning.
