Oh, Angelrose.... I wish I lived closer so I could come help you clean up the basement! Call someone and start cracking the whip!

Your grandchildren are so precious and.... so lucky... to have you as a Grandma!

Keep the pictures coming!!

Hi CJ! How was your trip to DW? I want details! Thank you for the compliment. As soon as I get more pictures I will gladly post them. Grandma has to brag.

minniecarousel, I probably will have to. I like to do as much as I can by myself, but this may be a tad too much.

But the fan did a great job yesterday. Where I had it blowing there is a nice wide dry part in the basement. I turned it around today and see if it can do more good. We are supposed to have some hot days this week so I know that will help dry it out. But if it takes too long, I will have to break down and call someone.

We had an awesome trip, thanks for asking! I am trying to drag DH back there soon..... We have several trips planned this winter to watch our boys play basketball, but hopefully we can slip back to Disney again as well.

It did not rain until the day before we came home, and we were there for 8 days!! I was very surprised. I think I wore everyone out, but we were able to use early mornings and late nights to see and do everything we wanted to.

Oh I'm so glad you had a great time. We won't be going to Disney until at least 2012 if Karen has her way and 2013 if Chuck has his way. LOL He doesn't want to take a two year old to Disney again. Actually Jesse was very good on that trip. He just couldn't understand waiting for things and got very antsy at times. Totally understandable. But Chuck does get impatient. (takes after Ron, I'm sure)

Mary, I am truly in awe of how well you handle all the surprises that come your way with the house..Ron must be so proud of you!!

I've been hating the heat, still 90 here, but now hoping it will move up your way and help dry out that basement.

That's a very long wait for a Disney trip...we should get a Grandmother's trip together! Actually, that could really be fun!

Wanted to stop by tonight to say hello, but should be asleep...will go back to see if you posted any new pics of the kids. Hope so. Sleep well!

Hello all. Christine, we are due to get that heat along with more humidity on Wednesday. Chuck is coming over tomorrow after work to see what he can do. He did get a tad peeved with me when I told me how red in the face I got trying to wet vac and carry buckets. LOL He did ask me if I was TRYING to drive him crazy. heh heh heh of course I said "short drive".

I do have another picture of the family with Karen's nephew and his daughter.

Karen always seems to have trouble keeping her eyes open for pictures.

Well Chuck came over and got the sump pump to suction out a lot of water. Now it's just a matter of letting the fan dry the floor out.

Now Chuck said he thinks it wasn't all the leak but maybe ground water. Well, that can't be because we're having a drought and the water table is low. I've look outside and there is nothing wet and I've looked at the water pump and the hot water heater and they are not leaking. I'm really hoping that it was the leak and it had been going for a while. If the water comes back I guess I will have to call in a plumber to see if he can find where it's coming from.

I won't be on tomorrow night. It's our family dinner. I'm bringing my camera so I can take a couple of pictures of all the cousins and their husbands/partners.

I will be the only one without a husband. That's the hard part.

Oh Angelrose I do hope that the water will be gone once and for all for you! That is not fun at all ...

I love the pictures you post...I think your entire family is wonderful. They have the kindest faces..like you...and Jesse and Zoey are too precious for words I think Karen smiles so big it only appears her eyes are almost closed but they aren't really. Nothing wrong with such a smile..

Enjoy tomorrow. I know the hard part is going solo now...but they are family and know how your heart will be a little heavy. Besides Ron is going with you..you might hear him in your ear saying little things about this person and that person.

I have 2 dear friends that have lost their husbands in the past 2 months..one was 47 and the other 59. So sad...and the going it alone can get hard at times...tomorrow is another day though right?

minnie56, yes the water is down! I went down there this morning and just wet vaced the small puddles. Now I just have to let the fan do it's work. I do think all the water was from the leaky pipe. I must make it a point to go down the basement at least once a week!

Last night's dinner was wonderful. We just laughed the whole time. Oh my we were LOUD. Good thing we had a room all to ourselves. I think they would have thrown us out if we hadn't! The food was great too. At the end I gave my cousin a calculator to see how much we each owed. You know what they did? The divided it up between the 5 couples and wouldn't let me pay a dime! Wasn't that sweet of them?

We had such a good time, that we decided to do it again in May.

Here is a picture of all us crazy Italians.

From left back row, is Don my cousin Butch's partner, bearded guy is Butch, next is Walt, then my cousin Joan, her husband Mark and Marty. Now from right bottom row is my cousin Joann (Marty's wife), big fat me, LOL my cousin Charlotte, (Walt's wife), my cousin Rosalie and her husband John. Rosalie, Charlotte and Joann are sisters.

Rosalie's husband John is the funny one. He really gets us going. Butch is also funny.

But the biggest laugh of the night was because Joann only heard half of my conversation.

I was telling the story about a young cop that Butch's sister Connie set me up with, just out of high school. He took me to a movie and then on the way home, pulled into a field where they played football. We parked. I was very young and naive and didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but I was uncomfortable. He kissed me a few times, but mostly he talked about his old girlfriend. Nothing else went on. We got to my house a few minutes after 10. I mean like less than 5 minutes. My mother was waiting and told him that when she said 10pm, she meant 10pm! OMG I thought I would die. He started to laugh, thinking she was kidding. She told him she wasn't. That ended my first date with him.

Now a few days passed and he didn't call me. A week went by and no call. I was disappointed but I figured he was busy being a cop.

One day I was at my aunts house and she asked me to help her bring her laundry upstairs. uhoh. Do you know what she told me?? That the cop told my cousin that he would NEVER DATE A GIRL WHO PARKED ON THE FIRST DATE!! I was so mad, I thought I would explode. My poor aunt got the brunt of my anger. I told her he was a little bas**** and I would NEVER go out with a man who kissed and told! I went on and on until she said, next time just tell the guy you want to go straight home. Lesson learned.

OK now Joann just heard the last part of this and asked, " when did this happen?" And before I could say anything, Joan shouted out,"YESTERDAY". Well I thought I was going to pee myself. Everybody roared and Joann just looked puzzled which made it even funnier. I finally was able to get it out that it happened just out of high school.

Well, there you have it. My goofy family and my sad tale of woe.

I had a nice day today. I went to the local craft fair and this is what I bought

Meet Cassandra the seer

I've gotten many of this lady's soft sculptures over the years and I love them. She is so talented.

I also bought some really HOT pretzels with wasabi and cayeen. You just have to break off a small piece to eat. If you bite it, your lips will burn as much as your mouth. But they are so good.

Karen called me tonight and asked if I wanted to go tomorrow with her and the kids. She can't handle both strollers. I can't wait to spend time with both my grandkids!

Here is the latest picture of Zoey at one month. She weighs 10lbs and is 21 inches.

Oh my what a busy day. Busy and great! I got up at 6 so I decided to get the grocery shopping done before Karen picked me up at 8:30. I got home by 7:45 and had everything put away by 8. I read until she arrived.

It was cloudy and looked like rain any minute. I pushed Jesse in his stroller and Karen pushed Zoey. We were so early that most of the booths were still closed. We went over to my friends store and they got to make a fuss over both kids. I told Jesse he could get out of his stroller because I was going to buy him a present. He picked out a bright green motorcycle that went VRUUUUM. But it was a quiet VRUUUM and not as bad as the train or the truck. LOL We walked around some more and the lady who does the soft sculptures was open, so we talked to her for a few minutes. Jesse wanted to ride the carousel so grandmom took him.

I told Karen about the spicy pretzels and we went to that booth and she bought the same two flavors that I did. Chuck will love the hot pretzels.

I bought Zoey a cute little hot pink knitted hat with a big pink flower on it. heh heh heh I told Karen that she could blame it on me. Chuck is getting tired of pink for his little girl.

We walked around and saw all of the booths. Karen found a cute wooden reindeer for their outdoor decorations for Christmas. By that time we were starving. We stopped at the Greek booth and we both got the chicken souvlaki on pita. Oh my goodness was that good.

Just as we finished eating it started to rain in earnest. So we headed back to the car and she drove me home. When I got in the door, I got into my nighty and took a nap. I was exhausted. I got up two hours later only because the phone rang with a wrong number.

I got up and started to watch tv. The phone rang around 3. It was Chuck asking if I wanted to have dinner with them at Olive Garden. YIPPEEE! I get to see everyone again!

We had a nice time and a great dinner. Jesse got a little antsy towards the end but that is to be expected of an almost 3 year old. I thought he did very well, but Karen said that he was naughty and I couldn't give him his little cars. I think I was more disappointed than he was. He took it well and said that I could come to his house if I wanted. AWWWWWW I hated to tell him I had to go home. It was almost his bed time anyway.

I am so happy today. Ron would have loved to have gone to the craft fair with us. He loved to look at each and every booth.

Hi Angel! I love the story about the date!

Where was the fair, if you don't mind me asking? That carousel looks like Fantasy Island on LBI? So glad you are getting out and having fun - the cousins dinner looked awesome!

Have a nice weekend!

Hi snappyd. The craft fair was in Smithville near Absecon. It's only about 5 minutes from my house.

The kids came over for a little visit this morning. They brought Zoey for me to hold. Karen fed her and then I got to hold her. She looked at me with such a serious look on her face. LOL So precious.

Then Karen got the idea to take a picture of Zoey with my Cabbage Patch dolls.

Which one is Zoey?

I forgot to add that after all these years, I STILL get mad at that guy. I'm Italian and Irish. We hold grudges.
