Anyone know how often they change bedspreads???

I would hope after each cruise changes over but...anyone know for sure????
I know the blankets in the cupboards have been dirty just about every time I wanted to take it out and use it.

I know for a FACT they are not changed after each cruise.... 100% for a fact... Now, how often are they changed; I do not have a clue. We had a problem 2 times and now we just toss the darn thing in the hall as soon as we get to our room.

Do they bring you a clean new one????
Or just toss the other one back on-LOL
What about the blankets?
Maybe we should ask for all newly cleaned blankets and bedcovers as soon as we see the room steward.

That is gross though! Why would they not change them?
I had a feeling they did not.

Because it would be impossible to change out all the bedspreads and wash them each cruise. They have a limited time frame (about 4 hours) to get the ship ready for the new guests. No hotel I know of or other cruiseline washes the bedpsreads after each guest leaves.

Like I said, we just toss ours. I do not feel bad about this either, because in some recent threads, I am hearing of what you guys do in your rooms. I may just be a little "slow" in that department.... I made a comment on one thread telling a guy him & his wife could get adjourning rooms, saying they did not have to sleep in the same room. Made the comment that DH & I on our many many cruises only use our room for sleeping & I was shocked at how much people were and actually at me... Oh well..... Anyway, the reply I got from DCL is that there are not enough bed spreads on the ship to have 2 sets for each stateroom. This would take a lot of space and would make the need to WASH them overwhelming. So there are a few extras, but not "double". If someone before you had the bed into two twin beds, then you do get a fresh one. If you travel after the Tink family, you do get a clean one as we have gone without for the week.

Each cruise when we have left our room there has been a clear trash bag in the hall tied onto the rail outside each door with the bedspread in the bag along with the sheets. I figured they change them quite often since we have seen this five times over six years. ????

OK, I am officially grossed out! I have quilts in my home and we have covers for them that are allergy free and completely cover the quilts. I think I will bring it with me and cover the blanket with my own coverlets!

Hotels don't change them either. My room steward as always left the cover off after the first night. I think they notice I like to take a nap before dinner.

Have to add my 2 cents in here...

I was watching a true crime show recently and they were trying to match the semen on the comforter from a hotel room to a suspected murderer/rapist. They said that it was a difficult task, since there were (are you ready for this?) 106 different semen samples on this ONE comforter.

SO, DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER use a comforter from ANY hotel, cruise ship, or any other bed that is not yours!

I couldn't believe it when the detectives were saying it, and they were grossed out by it too.

For that very reason we chunk it to the side

Ugggggh, how do you know this? I mean, ew.

What kind of operation does not change its sheets between cruises?

They change the sheets but not the bed spreads

No one mentioned the sheets not being changed....those are changed after every cruise. Many hotels, including WDW hotels are not even washing towels everyday....they ask if you want to use your towel again to hang it up....and put dirty ones on the floor. It is cost savings and/or environmental. I don't say I agree with it. When I am on vacation I want new towels each day. But a bedpread that is only for show when I first walk in the room does not bother me if it is not washed after each guest.

Can someone tell me one hotel that washes and changes out the bedspread after each guest's stay? I have never heard of one.

MJ

Oh thank goodness!

I mean, don't get me wrong, I would much prefer a washed bedspread, but I do understand they are under time/space contraints......but the sheets, oh I think I'd throw up....lol
