Your not kidding about that one. They ruined one of my trips terribly....not so much at the park but at the resort. I also want to go around xmas time but am trying to stay as far away as I can from both Pop Warner and actual xmas day.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I'm sure my mom (as well as myself) would NOT want to be surrounded by the Pop Warner bunch!

We've spent the week before Christmas in WDW in 2004 and again in 2008, and had a blast both times. The crowds did build as the date drew closer to Christmas, but we found the crowds manageable the entire time, and excellent during the first part of the week. You get all of the Christmas magic, and you can even see some of the things that are only reserved for MVMCP guests during the first part of the month. All in all, a great time to go!

This will be our 4th year in a row going during the first 3 weeks of Dec. Crowds have never been a problem, and we typically don't wait more than 20 mins. for anything (except TSM, but it doesn't matter what time of year you go when it comes to that).

FWIW Pop Warner week this year is 12/5-12. We've never stayed at the resorts they do, but I can say we've never had a problem with them in the parks. Just a occasional spontaneous cheering session on Main St. last year while waiting for Spectro.

Honestly... last year was the first year I knew anything about PW, so for the 2 years prior, we never even noticed them.

go early!

Early December is our absolute favorite time of year to go to WDW! The parks are great at that time.

Later in the month, things start to get heavier, and when school lets out, the corwds spike. The week of Christmas, it becomes a madhouse.

That being said, early is the way to go.

One year my daughter got out of school for Christmas extremely early compared to most school systems. We went during what is equivalent to this year the week of the 14th of December. We saw this coming up only about 3 weeks ahead of time and said hey let's go to Disneyworld. It was the best trip we ever had there. We still got home in time to spend Christmas with the rest of the family and left before the room rates went back up.

They didn't "ruin" our trip last December, but they sure made it more crowded than I expected.

This is a post I made lthis December

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2036218

We where there from 12-13/12-17 The 13th was the last day of the Pop Warner kids we did not got to a park that day but we where staying at All Star Sports so they where kind of annnoying glad they left though the next day.

Crowds: The crowds did not seem bad to me. Definitely not as crowded as August. Alot of rides where walk on or 10min waits.

Weather was from 75-82

All christmas ornaments, stockings, tree skirts, holiday hats and red boxed jewelery where 50% off. All t-shirts, baseball hats, mugs, and beach towels were 40% off.

We went to alot of hotels to see decorations they were amazing:
We stayed at All Star Sports.

Swan and Dolphin

Boardwalk

Yacht Club

Beach Club

Contemporary

Polynesian

Grand Floridian

Wilderness Lodge

MVMCP 14th: There was nobody there. Walked on Splash and Thunder before the party started. Space Mountain walked on 2x after the party stareted. All the rides were walk on too. We saw all the shows except Bell's Enchanted Christmas. We watched the 10:30 parade in frointer land there was no one there. Tinkerbell was only a 15min wait so we waited for her. The party was great and I think it was worth the $$ and would definitly go again. The decorations were also great. I LOVED the castle.
