Should i upgrade

I have a room booked at ASMu for August. It is just DH and I and we will be there for a week. We have gone to Disney in September but never August. I am wondering if it is really that hot and if so, would it be worth it to upgrade to a moderate for better pools and resort facilities? If the heat is unbearable we will probably take the afternoons off and hang out by the resort pool. Which moderate is best for a couple?

Personally, I would upgrade. I think there's a big difference between the mods and the values, and I really enjoy the mods. POFQ and POR are lovely resorts, and have the boats to downtown Disney. CSR has upgraded to queen beds and flat screen TVs, as well as extra amenities like a fitness center, massage services, a hair salon, and a nightclub. CBR has 6 (!!!) quiet pools and a really beautiful tropical feel (here are our image galleries from our CBR fan site).

Good luck!

I would definitely upgrade. It's going to be HOT, and if I remember from our stroll through the value resort area, there was little in the way of trees etc. POR has some shade and more tropical feel.

Yes! We stayed at ASMo one year for a week in Aug. and it was unbelievably hot! The buses were so crowded. The bus stops have no shade and people were lined up in the hot sun to get on the bus. All three all star resorts shared the same bus, so by the time it got to us, there was nowhere to sit and only about 6 to 10 people could get on to stand. It really took a lot of fun out of our trip because we spent most of our time waiting in the heat for a bus....it made taking a midday nap almost impossible because if you went back to your room, it would take forever to get back to the park (especially MK). I would upgrade...the bus stops are covered and there are more of them... and the theme and pools are just so much better. To me, the extra $ spent is worth it.

If it's just for the pool I would say no.

If you plan to spend a fair bit of time at the resort then yes upgrade. POFQ is very romantic and has the boat service to DTD. You also have the full use of POR.

When we are going to have an R&R trip we always stay at a mod but if it's a trip that we will mainly be in the parks we stay at a value.

I 100% agree. Definitely upgrade to a mod if you can. For a couple, I would recommend CSR or POR...try to request a building closest to the main house.....because in August, that walk to the food court is going to seem like a walk through the Sahara!!

Have a great trip!!
