Big discount for 2010???

Who out there thinks there will be another deal offered this winter?? Seems to me like the economy is worse than before hence the Free Dining offer for the fall. I am debating to book early Dec with no offer or hold out for winter 2010?

well, this is probably the 4th or 5th time they've offered Free Dining. It must be working for them or they wouldn't keep bringing it back. That said, I too am hoping for a big discount for Jan/Feb. Hopefully the 4/3 offer. I think I am going to book soon, and then at least I will have the resort I want. Then all I have to do is wait for the offers!
Here's hoping!

I would think they would be offering something great again!

I am holding out for January 2010 and hoping for either free dining or a 4/3 deal again or maybe even something better!!!

Free Dining during non peak periods has been going on for a few years now, it's nothing new for this year. Yeah there probably will be more specials for 2010, only time will tell though.

Best place to check is the Codes and Rates from time to time to see what offers people are getting - http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93

Any big offers will show up on the wdwinfo.com news section also I'd think - http://www.wdwinfo.com/news/disney-news.htm

I'm hoping that FD is offered starting in mid-August again next year because we are planning to go the week of 8/15/10 and as of next year, all 3 kids will be considered adults for Disney

When?

Does anyone know when deals for Jan/Feb 2010 will be announced? We are planning to go Jan 22 - Feb13, I've booked the airline tickets with aeroplan but I haven't booked hotel or park ticket yet.

I am waiting too and from what I have been reading they usually announce the next year prices in beginning of August. I am hoping for July but we will have to wait and see.

Just to give you all the heads up.

here in the UK we have been offered free dining for 2010. Bookings have to be made before end of Dec 09, and fro travel from the 08/01/10 until the first week in Oct 2010.

So it looks like you guys will be offered it too later on this year, or very early next.

We are usually offered free dining on bookings made from 08/22/09 to 11/06/09 for travel the following year. So they have made the offer available 4 months earlier and extended it for another 2 months longer than normal.

Check out Virgin Holidays or first choice website for full details of our offer.

Can I go ahead and book a room only to make sure we get the resort we want for next summer and then once rates or hopefully "deals" come out for next year change over to a package?

Thanks,
Becky

You certainly can! Just make sure you are stalking mousesavers or the dis when the deals are announced and call that morning. Many people secure a room at full price before deals come out.

The level of discounts will all depend on the economy. Many analysts feel that Disney has just puled from future visitors with the steep discounts - we'll see what happens.

I remember deals for 2009 not coming out until November of last year. I am going to go ahead and book my package in August and hope for something huge. The 4/3 saved us $200. But we stayed at a value. this time we want a moderate, so I think a 4/3 would be a bigger savings this time around. I will take whatever they have to offer though... I would really like to see FD.
Now I have to decide which mod to stay at. Such decisions...
